Going Alone!!!!!!!

I frequently have no one to go to parks with, but I find when I arrive when they open and stay until they close I have enough time to take all my photos, and do what I need to do without waiting on anyone else. After all, it is expensive.

Ah yes, another reason I like going alone -- taking pictures. Whenever I go to a park I always make sure to take plenty of pictures, but my friends often complain about me stopping every now and then to do so. How am I going to survive the winter without my coaster pics? ;)

I enjoy going alone sometimes... That would mean when I feel like going on just coasters, nothing else, and do what I feel like I want to do. If I want to go out of the park to buy a sandwich or something, I wouldn't have someone tagging along and saying we're missing out on the swing ride. But after a few hours, it does get boring and lonesome and it's a bit embarrasing when the ride op asks how many people and you're the only one.

Anytime your in Maryland, DC or Virginia...... we can meet at Kings Dominion or Six Flags America. It's always fun to talk to someone new about coasters and have that person actually know what they are talking about and hearing..... unlike my family. It would be fun.  IM me at Daveag1285 Going around to parks alone is not fun.... because half the fun is talking to a friend about how great the ride is so you can both experience it together and communicate about how great the park is etc.. Being alone can get pretty boring because there isn't any chance to tell someone how much fun the park is. I love to meet new coaster enthusiasts and discuss their favorite coasters and good times etc.

going alone pretty much sucks...i went to SFMM by myself 2 weeks ago, and i went with 6 close friends yesterday. When i went 2 wks ago, i wanted to leave after 2-3 hours. It is nowhere near as fun going by urself than going with a group of people

I go alone sometimes, but usually with friends or family.

Being at a park alone is a different experience. Sometimes I have a GREAT time (nobody to hold you back when you want to do that 10th lap on XYZZY ;) ), sometimes I get a bit bored.

Sometimes a trip that starts out alone I meet someone (hey Jeremy!) or run into someone I know.

I certainly have no problems with going alone, though. If I'm in the mood to ride and nobody else is, I'm not going to let that stop ME :)

My page  My other page  And my coaster page

I would love to go alone but, it get's a little boring. It's pretty cool to see sombody you know at a park. One time, on a Saturday, I went to Carowinds and right when it opened we headed straight for Cyclone and Hurler. No one was in line for Hurler, but we got in the back, and when the train came in, I saw 2 friends from school, but didn't hang out with them for the day.

There's this girl in my Math class whose lived in Chicago and California and has been to parks such as SFGAM and PGA, and she loves coasters, and we talk about them all the time. I would like to go to a park with her.

Prepare for take-off.....

I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU MEAN!  im the same age and i always wanna go to kings dominion becasue we have season passes.  my parent always want to get there at opening, and leave arount 2 or 3.  they just dont understand that half my life is roller coasters.  they always finish what they wanna do, and the talk is always about disney.  but honestly, i wasnt very immpressed w/ it.  their coasters kinda sucked for the money they should have.  i think w/ good theming they could put in a b&m or something......who knows.  but back to the subject.  in your case, i always try to stall or ask for more time.  see if you can get your parents into a show or something.  i always have to leave early because everybody else gets bored too fast.  coaster fans almost never get bored.  thats why i just tell them to suck it up and ride.   i dont get why everybody can be so scared.  my trips to parks has been screwed up by this, especially my trip to islands of adventure.....im still upset about that.  they wanted to watch fire works, and i could have rode hulk at night for a 15min wait!  better yet, walk on.  i could have went as a single rider.
aww thank u guys if i ever go near those places ill be sure to tell you

many of you guys are mostlikley Nitro needs to relize that having family there is fun,But you have to understand that we all don't have the same family. My family is great but their all chickens so when ever I ride most coasters it's just me! I also want to test out half the coaster around the world .... or just the U.S.. But when it's comes to going to those theme park it's not just I want to go to Six flags Magic Mountain, it's "Mom, Dad can we go to SFMM ......."NO! That's too far, or that's to expensive, or I have to work or next year."

NITRO EXPLODES!!!!!!!!!!

Hey thats my name.........

I like going with friends, but when you go by yourself, you get to to what YOU want. Not what the OTHER person wants. I usually have a sick plan like to ride GASM all day, or stay on rolling thunder all day, by riding in each seat.

I love going alone. No "That line is too long" when its 20 minutes. No "That ride sucks" referring to a woodie that is really good. No "Im tired, lets go home" at 5pm.

Coasting alone is GREAT-- usually you can talk to people standing around you if you get into a long queue, and if the lines are short-- I never get bored riding non-stop.

i've been to ioa a few times alone it is alot better but i'd like to meet one of you guys and go that would be good =)so if anyone wants to meet a female enthusiast here i am and my pic is in my profile

I guess I am a pretty lucky person.  Two of my really good friends are both crazy about coasters.  One is a member here, they are the reason I like coasters so much.  Also my dad loves coasters and so does my brother.  They are not full blown enthusiast but will stay as long as I want to and they still have fun.

A large majority of the time I go to parks by myself. I am a coaster nut and unfortunately my wife isn't. So, I can usually count on her going to the park three (four, tops) times a season.

But I am a natural extrovert and can talk to anyone, anytime so most of the time in line, I am talking to people around me. And if I am not, I can freely scan the hoochies in the park safely since my wife isn't around.

I am making a trip to SFMM October 12-14 for their fright fest, by myself. I couldn't convince my wife to spend another $300 on airfare and $120 for park admission. So, alone I go (I am financing this trip out of my "private saving stash". If anyone want to hook up with me at the park, I'll gladly meet ya! Email me

I've been to a couple parks by myself this year (Kennywood, SFWoA, SFA) and had a wonderful time.  It's nice being able to ride and eat wherever you want without having to worry about pleasing those who are with you.  I also like being able to stop and take pictures without slowing anyone in my group down.  I prefer to go to parks with at least one person, but oftentimes people either can't afford it, are busy, or aren't as big of a coaster freak as I am, that's life I guess. ;)

I 100% agree wth Nitro when he says leaving early from the park and going to the park when it first opens and closes.
I think your parents are weird, leaving at 7:00, not letting you go with your friend(s), is 10:00 past your bedtime, your parents should let you stay up later!

My parents are great. Usually they want to leave early if we are just going to SFWoA or somewhere I have been a million times.

My mom wanted to leave Kennywood because it was a 2 and 1/2 hour drive home.

Next year it's PKI, CP, and SFWoA. Maybe Hershey or BGW.

One other thing, I usually am up when the sun comes up, so no bed-time for me.
