GCII Not One But Two Rides For 2006!

I just saw this on the Beech Bend website:

"Can it be? Rumor or fact - Dallas Jones and family spotted at IAAPA in Orlando (early November) meeting and "shaking hands" with Major Coaster manufacturer "Great Coasters International" - click on picture at right to enlarge. Is there room for such a big coaster? The internet is buzzing with the special effect that originated in Long Island, New York (and is now gone)- can it still be replicated - the only one of its kind - when and "if" it will come in - how big is it - and where will it go?"

Here's the link: http://beechbend.com/Amusement%20Park.htm

Now what could that mean? Isn't Rye Playland, once home of the infamous Airplane Coaster, on Long Island? Maybe I'm reading too much into this, but I sure hope I'm not!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

Rye is not on Long Island but it sure sounds like that's what they're hinting at. And if anyone can do it GCI can ;)

Now that I think of it, the drop from the lift and tight pre-drop turn on Ozark Wildcat is almost the same as Aeroplane.

Coincidence? Perhaps we'll find out ;)

Wow, I feel slow because I submitted this for news just a couple hours ago, I totally missed this thread :(
The curiosity builds! :)
Rye isn't really on Long Island but it is on the Long Island Sound. The very same body of water that I propose all Morgan trains get dumped into :)

LOL Rob. I heartily agree ;)
About the location of the park or the proposed dumping grounds of Morgan rolling stock? ;)

The rolling stock.

BTW, I've heard rumors that Rye has been looking into returning the P&C trains to Dragon. Not sure if that'll actually happen or how valid the rumors are but we can always keep our fingers crossed [which is easier than holding one's breath].

mOOSH

I've been holding my breath for years now but so far, all it's resulted in is me passing out a few times. I've heard the rumors about the return of the P&C trains but I don't see it happening... one of the lead cars (in rather nice shape) sits on blocks in the museum by the promenade while another (in less-than-ideal condition) sits on a concrete pad outside the Dragon Coaster's station and seems to be a fancy trash bin. The front of the train is what I'm leaning on in my profile photo.
