Gatekeeper Media Day.

You could stay the next day for Ohio State Day, or basically the unofficial opening day of 2013.

As for Media Day...I'm thinking there is a larger crowd at 4AM than I originally expected. Does anyone know when they'll permit you into the parking lot? I'm starting to envision a line of crazy enthusiasts in tents.

Hey Travis, do you have to be a club member for this?

I'm staying on-property the night before, and I'm not sure I can get there at 4. That's really flipping early.

I think so, let me check...

Yep. You have to be a club member.

Seriously now, It's none of my business, but it seemed like Timber-rider misunderstood the conditions of admission to the event from his opening post. I would hate for him to show up with his buddy and have to sit in the parking lot at four in the morning. lol

About the early beginning to the event, I would think it is because they want to show off the lights on the trains.

Or to get footage for 5-6AM news?

Hmmm.....I'm thinking they might have some special prize for those willing to get there at 4am on the dot. At least that's what I'm wishing when I get there at 4. ;)

In any case, this is going to be fun regardless of how many people end up showing up. Just having the privilege to attend this is more than any of us could ask for.

Someone should make all enthusiasts proud by eating a huge breakfast, riding GateKeeper, then making a spectacular vomiting display on the platform. You'll be on every news station in the tri-state.

Pancake Platform Salsa! Yum!

I have a feeling Jeph is right. In our market the tv stations have taken turns bumping up their morning news by a half hour or so just to get a jump on the audience, it's ridiculous. (although I had a job for a while where I could start at 6, so I'd be the one turning on the tv at 5:30 before I walked out the door.)

Anyway, yes. I think those enthusiasts showing up at 4 will be on the ground getting a nice long lesson in camera set up and reporter prep and not many rides. Hopefully there'll be plenty of hot coffee!

Actually I knew all of the obligations. My friend who belongs to the ohio coaster club explained the fine details to me, before I post this topic. I know that you do have to be a card carrying member of a coaster club, and there is a list of clubs for the site. Coasterbuzz is one of them. He also told me about the 4 a.m. ride time, and I figured I might show up at 7 a.m. as a majority of the media events are later in the day. From 4 in the morning until 6:30 p.m for the whole event. And, for those of you who have flamed me. I am not a card carrying member, but I was told that I could easily become a card carrying member of the ohio coaster club for $15.00. I was going to to discuss it with my friend, but I have been sick for a week, and was not able to do so. My plan was to go to the media day, and then stay through the weekend, so that I could go to openning day as well, and spend 2 days at the park in full operation. But, as it is now, I have decided not to go.Some of you seem to think you know everything about me. Well, you'd be wrong.

I didn't do it! I swear!!

I wasn't flaming you or anything like that, buddy. I was genuinely concerned that you didn't know. I wouldn't want anyone, especially a person who posts here, to have to sit in the parking lot all day during a cool event.

Thanks for replying at least. I am now relieved.

I think you're reading too much into this, it's no different from any other media event.

There's your prize.
