Gallery

Jeff, I think it would be really neat if you had a Photo Gallery of only the best shots taken from various parks submitted by your visitors! You could rank them and display them in a unique format and award the best shots of the week, month, year, etc..

I'm going to do something like this at my site, only because I have 4 terra-bites to fill up on the web server ;)

Just suggestions!

I thought about it, but my goal here was really to provide a place that gets you to other people's content. I don't want to duplicate what other people have, but rather send people to sites that already exist. That's why it's the "portal" to the thrill(TM)!

I agree that this is a great site to stop and visit sites.

I'm hoping to include some sort of gallery on my site, but thats not my main goal. I first want to provide information and visitor submitted data. It's the way to go! ;)

How about not a gallery but one picture of the ride so that people can see it. I think that would be nice.

I think you would first have to find out how many coasters you have in your database and figure how much space that would take up and figure how much it's worth. I think it would be very professional if done correctly.

Is there a gallery of pictures Jeff has taken on this site. I came across a gallery on this site from a SFO story, however I don't see a button to go to that gallery from the home page ???? Just wondering, I have always enjoyed Jeff's work.

Jeff, found some more of them ! Just a suggestion, you should put a "Coasterbuzz Main Gallery" button on the home page. Your work is VERY good. I would hate to see some pictures overlooked. People love to look at photos. I agree the gallery shouldn't everyones photos, but yours, go for it. Like the new look !

I would kind of like to see a gallery on the site.
Not much just one pic of each coaster sort of like each members personel pic. You could also have the members contribute them. I would like to see some of my pictures on the website. Not that you would be copying off of any site but just adding more. I think it would be great to see a pic next to every coaster when you look up that coasters stats. If you are ever interested I have pics of all the South Eastern Parks and all of their coasters.

As I mentioned earlier, it's not really my intention to start managing a huge wealth of photos. CoasterBuzz is intended to get you to the places that have them. I want CoasterBuzz to be a starting point, not a be all things to all people destination.

For example, if you do an article search for "Talon," you'll get results to news items that point you to sites maintaining Talon photos.

If you look up Cedar Point in the park section, you'll get a big old list of other Cedar Point sites.

So if I had to create a mission statement for CoasterBuzz, it would be to provide enthusiasts with tools (track record, meeting calendar) and resources (stats, sites, databases, forums) to get them to the information they seek regarding roller coasters.
