GADV Wood Coaster Stats Predictions

There's just one thing, wheer would they put a woodie that's that huge? If you look at aerials, there isn't all that much space next to RT.I know it's gonna go under and around it and stuff, but it'll have to smother it to be the longest in the world. Maybe they'll be really creative with the twisting?

Or maybe, just maybe, it's not as big as everyone thinks?

I personally hope it isn't, Joe. Even if it is a Pre-Fab, I'm fine with under 200' and shorter length than the beast. I'm no Size Queen, thats for sure.

Whatever it is, the marketing campaign will include the phrase "And This One Will Run." And the teeny tiny small print will read "until the train rips the living **** out of the entire structure."

ACE News reports that it will break records and intertwine with Rolling Thunder's layout. It's an Intamin but as long as it's not launched, it should be pretty reliable ;)

Being up and running 2 out of every 3 days (a park record)

I imagine this thing is going to ALL OVER Rolling Thunder. They can't fit much in that small area where Viper used to be. It'll be interesting to see the layout of this one.

I *anticipate* it breaking height and speed records....angle of drop, maybe...

THe weird thing is the *intertwining* of what I hope turns out to be a GREAT new woodie with what I know to be a *decrepit* older one...still wish I'd gotten at least a lap on RT this year, alas it broke down JUST as we were queueing up... :(

I think it will break SOB's records for height, speed, and possibly angle of descent. Not sure about the length. Maybe that too.

I think it could go for angle of descent easily...however, if they're going to market it, they have to go big...with the limited space I could see height and speed...or maybe most inversions on a wood coaster (two)?

I hope that there are no inversions. Not that I mind them but Great Adventure already has enough of them... 31 is it?

There will also be some very desired elements. Without a doubt, this coaster will be eye candy.

26...SFMM has the 31 you're thinking of. So the wooden coaster would need 6 inversions to take SFMM's record away...but with their new (supposed) B&M flyer, there's almost no way to take the park inversion record with just a woodie.

Why does everyone keep calling it rolling thunder I thought the name was changed to rotting lumber.

That was hardly funny when I first heard that about 7 years ago, so much fresh material around here. My prediction is in the 150 foot range anything over that might be a little over kill, but then again if that was to happen I wouldn't mind it at all, seeing that GADV wants to become a major destination and all.

I'm thinking more along 170, 180, but somehow setting speed records...maybe a tunnel? That would be cool, but I doubt it. Who says they're even going to break any records? But if I may say so...if they're gonna go for a length record, they have the lakeside area to work with back there if they desire...don't they?

I'm probably going to do the same for the Michael Darling character who predicted that Superman would be torn down this year. Even said he'd eat his own poo if he were wrong :)
