Gadv 2004?

Thanks for all the quick comments guys but I have to say...Six Flags is a business and better staff wages and better maintance can't be advertised. If Great Adventure were to do something along those ends, they're going to have to build something in the park to get the crowd there to experience the new staff and maintenance. People won't respond to the staff's performance unless they experience it themselves and they're not going to go to the park unless there's something new...that turns them upside down 10 times....*fingers crossed* jk. Great Adventure has to also build something next year which is going to be on the same scale as their anniversary. SO...in other words, it all depends on how big Great Adventure makes their Anniversary.

I disagree. I don't think you can advertise it, but I think word of mouth is a better advertiser than TV anyway. Look at Holiday World.

Better staff doesn't *need* to be advertised either....it's self-promotional (and *I* should know, hehe).

Antuan, I admit I have been kinda hard on GAdv lately, and you're right about that. I *did* get on S:UF and BBTT this year, and met up with some great Jersey friends at the park. But I probably hold the park to a higher-than-reasonable standard, on account of it's the first non-Disney park I remember as a kid. While the park definitely has some pluses, I have been unable to get several *key* flats (Parachute Jump, JJF, Toreadors -or whatever the Rodeo is called), in addition to the TOTAL lack of decent wood (even when RT is "racing", it's laughably bad), and the fact that they fixed the wrong side of Chilla....;).

I guess, like SFMM, I see GAdv as a park that could VERY easily become a *fantastic* place to visit, again and again...and I don't understand why some continue to insist it's an unattainable goal....

Mistakes were made, others are to blame...

I totally agree with Gator there... suprisingly ;)

Improving the staff a little and maybe working out the parks inter-infrastructure[improving shops, stands, etc.], I think that the residual income alone would be more than a motivational factor for SFI. In addition to that, the overall reputation of the park would dramatically grow. I think the park has the potential to be almost SFFT in quality, maybe even better.

But then again, struggling buisnesses become senile and they see every expense, even great investements, as a knife that could kill them. I wouldn't be suprised if we see the advertising budget for SFI overall to drop this next year. It's harmful to them, but crucial to their success, but they just see it as "money we can't afford to lose."

VolcanoTBC, not referring to you (or anyone else in particular). I just seem to see alot of *excuses* for some of the staffing issues and maintenance/ops problems that run rampant through parks, not just GAdv or even SF but others as well....the people who post here and on other boards are WAY better than alot of their co-workers in terms of their personal responsibility, probably intelligence as well. (Ironically, this will likely hinder them in the corporate world, LOL).

If it were my business, seniors would definitely be part of the solution...but then again, so would naps....;)
