FUN PLEX to Build NEBRASKA's Tallest Roller Coaster !

This article was in the Omaha World Herald today. If this link dont work let me knoe ill copy and paste the whole thing. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=1636&u_sid=1463225
Link didn't work for me, but then again I don't really feel like registering for the Omaha World Herald.

How hard can it be to build the tallest roller coaster in Nebraska? :) Considering that Nebraska only has one coaster according to rcdb, it shouldn't be too hard. Was there any specifics about what they were going to build?

Seeing as how a Rollerskater or several other kiddie coasters would beat the current coaster, I wouldn't get too excited. Although a small woodie like Avalanche WOULD get me excited. Here's hoping!

Fun Plex is also the park who recently had a Choas accident.
its supposed to be 90 ft tall

have hairpin turns

steap drops

no loops

the owner traveled the country for 2 years to find the right coaster for there 30th anniversary. He found own he like made by Millar that is at Scandia Family Amusement Park in Ontario, California.

http://www.twistedrails.com/scandia/scandia.shtml

that has pics of the coaster they talk about at scandia.

I dont really beleive the park had anything to do with the chaos accident. Ecspecially since there were several chaos accidents accrossed the country at that time.

P.S. whats RCDB actual web addy because I want to see what they say nebraska already has a coaster about because I didn't know there was one here. Except the kiddie gator oval coaster at Fun Plex already. *** Edited 7/20/2005 4:30:25 PM UTC by TonyBlackjack***

A powered kiddie is the only coaster in Nebraska. And now this clone of Scandia Screamer?!?
A little like adding insult to injury, don't you think?

More like adding injury to insult, LOL! ;)

Here is the article here with video.

I don't know about anyone else, but I think that coaster at Scandia looks like it'd be an absolute blast. I'd sure stop at Fun Plex if I were passing through...
Thats what i thought too Vater until i rode it last year. Lets just say my thoughts changed pretty quit. It was kinda painfull and one ride was more than enough for me.
Vater, Scandia Screamer has its fans and its enemies, I had to skip Scandia in order to take a nap during mid-day Solace when everyone else headed to the park for a few hours. I was tired. You'd be too if you flew to L.A. on no sleep, arrived, drove to USH, then Both Disneys on Tuesday, then drove to Vegas on Wed and rode that nite, then all day Thurs., then drove back to L.A. on Friday for Citywalk and Maroon 5, then up early for Solace.

Well, unless you were Sean Flaharty you would. ;)

OMG!!!! A coaster finally comes home for us Nebraskans!!!!

Granted it's not KK...but...it's better than nothing!

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
/\ Haha. Granted it's not Kingda Ka...LOL. At 90 feet tall, it's not even a Nemesis Inferno or Batman The Dark Knight. And those rides are considered quite small! How do you Nebraskans get by? Oh well, if its exactly like the Scandia Screamer, you'll enjoy it. It's a fun thrilling ride. But still, I can't get over the fact that California has a water ride with a drop that is 25-feet taller than Nebraska's tallest ROLLERCOASTER.
Well I've rode this coaster along time ago when it was new or newer to Scandia, I'm not sure if it opened with the park or was added later. Anyways the ride was the sickest thing I had been on in ages, I thouight I was 8 years old again riding monsters like Colossus and Rev back in their good ol days. The ejector airtime made you stand straight up in the train, wich had me damn near scared for my life since it was a single bar holding you in.

I almost died again on those turns since they were so forceful I thought the train was gonna rip off the tracks and we would end up on the Freeway the runs right by the park. It was like a hypercoaster wild mouse lol just sick. Then on top of that you have 747s, or what ever, flying what seams like just feet ubove your head, since the Ontario International Airport is not far from the park.

Since then I haven't heard any good things about this coaster, I don't know if most enthusiast or spoiled with the B&M smoothness or if it has gotten really bad. I Know when I rode it, it was vicious in a very good way, with forces that you would never find on a B&M, Intamin or the newer builders. This thing had old time bite like Rev and other Anton S. creations in their glory days.

I went on with the attitude of "Oh this is just a little carnival coster it's nothing blah blah, especially compared to the rides at parks like SFMM and KBF" I was blown away totally suprised by the fast, very intense and smooth (at the time I rode) ride this coaster gave.

Timber Terror at Silverwood stands 85 feet tall, and it blows away every ride at SFMM, let alone half of the other rides in the states. A LOT can be done with that height. I'm impressed they're getting a monster in Nebraska! ;)

The Flying Turns makes all the right people wet - Gonch

And I'm just impressed that anyone is able to live in Nebraska. ;)

"Would you like to buy a photo of you boys enjoying the Line Ride?"

Yeah guys....as an enthusiast....if you only knew.....I was explaining a suspended coaster to someone the other day and they were like 'really...they can do that!!!'. This coaster, at 90 feet high, will generate a little buzz amongst the GP, but enough people have ridden Mamba to have an idea what a decent sized coaster is like.

I had to schedule my vacation around the summer this year solely because there are two families taking their vacation at the same time....leaving only 9 of us to run the entire state while they are gone. One time, we only had 6 people in the state and those b*******s from South Dakota tried to commandeer Chimney Rock while we weren't looking.....just kidding of course...we really know it was Wyoming....

The state capitol building, by law, is the largest structure in Lincoln....and it is about 10 feet shorter than TTD.

Memorial Stadium, when a game is being played, is the third most populous city in the entire state.

Like I said...any addition is a welcome addition...and I am hoping it's not the last...

Sweet, another new coaster only 2 hours away if it gets built.

I remember hearing about the Huskers stadium being the 3rd populous city when gametime approaches.

Skol Vikings
Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

Commonwealth Stadium is the third largest city in Kentucky during UK football games. Lincoln and Omaha are really comperable in size to Lexinton and Louisville respectively. I really think there is a lot to do in all 4, but I am old enough to drink. . .Or at least look it. I don't know about Lincoln, but i know the other 3 are all really nice cities. The rest of both states are what give them their bad reputations.

Down is the new up.
