Full park

Well, "Empty park" is doing pretty well, so here's the opposite.

My worst is BGW, a Saturday in early April, 1999. I stayed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and got 7 rides all day. I waited well over 2 hours for front seat of Alpengiest, and over an hour 3 times for AC. LNM wait also was over an hour.

Runner-ups are: a Thursday in mid-July last year at SFGAm. The lines for all the major coasters (including American Eagle) were an hour plus.

And: PKI, last Saturday of 2001. Even Adventure Express had a monstrous line.

My worst day had to be at Gadv last year. I dont remember what day it was but we got there and long story short I got on two rides all day. Nitro (which was amazing in the dark) and a swinging ship ride called the buccaneer. I was there from 10am -10pm!

I have two, both from last year.

SFoG - Last Saturday of operating season in October. We were at the park from 10-10, and only got in 11 rides total, with a Q-Bot. One of the B:TR ops told us she'd never seen it so crowded.

SFGAm - I forget which date, but one of the Fright-Fest Saturdays. It was the first Saturday of OCtober that had "nice" weather. We were there from 12-9, and only got in 4 rides. It took us an hour just to get in the park. In all the time I've spent there, this was the busiest day I've seen.

Six Flags Magic Mountain on Halloween can be a killer, but then try Disneyland on Forth of July and you'll find yourself pancaked by the crowd. I had a 2 hour 45 minute wait for Space Mountain and an 1.5 hour wait for Matterhorn. May not seem big, but for such short coasters, their not worth the "Hyped Coaster" wait. Splash Mountain was a half hour wait, but it broke down(again, for the 7th time while I was riding, and it wasn't the last), can Disney control that thing? Rocket Rods, man that was interesting ;) I got tired of waiting for the bigger(family) rides, so I did It's a Small World 4 times:

It's a small world after all,

It's a small world after all,

It's a small world after all,

It's a small small small small world.

Walt Disney: "Remember to fire the man who wrote that song Johnny."

Stop complaining!!! Visit Knott's Scary Farm on a night that it is sold out. Lines for Boomerang, Montezooma's Revenge, and Ghost Rider were all 2.5 + hours plus, you can barely move around there are so many people!

Anyways, X has had 5 hour lines already, nothing compared to your 2 hour wait!

During the last weekend of the 2001 PKI season (November 4 and 5), the park had more then 40,000 guest in the park each of the two days.
I have never been to a park when it was full before. The longest wait i ever had was about an hour, for Millennium Force. For SFGadv., the two times i went there were almost no lines. For the first hour at the park there were only about 4 people in line for the FRONT of medusa! Ever time i went to SFNE, the line for Superman:ROS was between 5 and 20 mins, even with only 1 train. I was also lucky at busch williamsburg, i was able to stay in the front of Aplengiest for 5 rides in a row near closing time. I seem to go to parks when no one else does!

Formally known as Millenium Force29, Alpengiest is the best!

Opening Day 2000 at CP. Line for Millennium Force were 6+ hours. Everything else was 1 hour 45 minutes and over. Even Iron Dragon and Wildcat had 1 hour 30 minute waits. The shortest line was for Corkscrew and that was 1/2 an hour.

I can't think of a good signature.

Yeah, that final sunday at PKI was very crowded, I think because of the company though it was one of the best times I've had at the park :)

Walkback on Beast, 5 FLyer rides, 2FOF rides and then a ride on SOB made it till about 1pm. We then just sorta hung loose and ate and about 3pm we took another Sonny ride (1:10wait) about 4:30pm we just overtook the flyers with about 50 enthusiast mixed about the line and even though it had a good wait I got about 7-8 rides on the flyers before 7:30 when we went to wait for Beast final rides.

I had a ball but could see if you were out to get a lot of different rides where you may have been a bit discouraged due to the crowd. BTW that morning walkback was one awesome ride :)

Chuck, who has a blast on the Flyers alone, expecially when the gangs all here :)

Americana is opening in 2002 and needs your support as many company picnics are already schedualed for someplace else, Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

BGW the third weekend in Sept. 2000. It seemed like it was going to be a good day, but the nice weather brought people in droves, and by noon they had reached maximum capacity and stopped letting people in. Thank God I was there waiting at nine. I got a couple rides on Alpengeist, and Apollo, but after lunch wated an hour to ride BBW, and didn't do a whole lotta riding after that, just a lotta drinking. Course there was a line for that, too.
I had to wait about 1 and 1/2 hours for Georgia Scorcher at SFOG, about 45 minutes for Batman: The Ride at SFGadv, but the same day at the same park Medusa was walk on.
SFEG any Saturday during Fright Fest last year.
I bet the crowds will be huge this summer too once TFC opens.

At SFEG, TFC is coming! ;)

Great Adventure in July 2000. It was awful. It was half-an-hour to get through the toll booth off the interstate, and another hour to get through the ticket booths and metal detectors. Every major coaster had huge lines, so we mostly rode flat rides. I was so tense by the end of the day that I had a yelling match with a soccer mommy who was smoking next to me while I was waiting for Skull Mountain.

The word "definitely" is definitely the most misspelled word on the buzz.

Another vote for the final weekend at PKI last year. They were giving away tickets (max 6 for FREE!!!) at my wife's company. Not such a bad idea for a November day in Ohio...except it was unusually warm and sunny on Saturday when I went. The park was packed, and they weren't running the rides at capacity. I think they got caught off-guard. BUT...I'm not complainin'...I got to ride SOB for the first (and probably last) time.

Great America on a Tuesday in late July last year. My Coaster Tours group had just gotten back from Sandusky where the crowds were decent, but we were shocked to see SFGAM jammed with people on a Tuesday. The waits for Viper, Raging Bull, and B:TR were nuts.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!

Worst "full day" - SFMM a few November's ago. I thought that since it was off-season that it shouldn't be too crowded. Well I was wrong. The reason is because there was some high school event and there seemed to be thousands of high schoolers all around. Well, I got 4 rides all day!! :o( Next time I go to a park across the country I will call ahead or check the web site to make sure I go on a day that does NOT have a major event on it.

sfga at chicago was the worst of all time. i waited three hour to ride the american eagle and batman(the first season) and about two and a half hours in general for every ride. granted it was a saturday. even cedar point never gets like that. whew!
My memory is not too well but about 3-4 years ago(before i was i coaster lover) I went to gadv on a saterday and got on only Stuntman freefall scream machine, and some other ride i cant remember off the top of my head. i know i only rode 3 rides that day, and GASM was like a 3 hour wait.

October 14, 2000 (I believe), at Cedar Point. Unbelieveable the amount of people there!
