From Seattle: signs of hope!

Greg - unless the park goes to PTC and buys the train[s] separately look for Gerstlauers or a new train from S&S.

Moosh - hoping for PTCs.

I don't know necessarily 'Moosh....I think Denise actually preferred the PTCs...and that the Gerstlauer *preference* came to pass because of the financial hoop-de-doo between CCI and PTC...a new train from S&S might fall under the heading of *too many different directions*

bill, HOPING he's right, cause like Greg, I'd rather see PTCs...well, I'd really rather have GCI trains, but we're pretty SURE that "ain't hap'ning"...;)

Maybe they'll use those cool B&M trains that Psyclone runs. r0x0r!!!!!!!!!

True, 'Gator. And perhaps PTC would look at S&S in a different light since they are not CCI and don't have a reputaton for not paying their bills, AFAIK.

....or the awesome Premier trains from Sonny.....OUCHIE!
I hoping for S&S trains for this reason: The lapbars refuses to stay up on the most recent PTC trains. The trains on Shivering Timbers has such bad lapbars that if you don't hold them up they fall down even on the lifthill! Viper and Thunder Run trains are WAY better!! If PTC would put strong return spring in than go with PTCs. I don't know if S&S is planning their own trains or not but I trust them more than PTCs with stay put lapbars!!

I'm hoping for G-Trains, which I like just fine on these coasters: Villain, Legend (RIP G-buddies), and Twisted Twinsters. I think the ones on the Boss are even good, in a 'bad' kind of way.

Chris, ducking the tomatoes.

PF Fanatic - how do you know wood coaster trains from S&S would be any better than PTCs? Have you ridden any?

Take this advice: stop wasting so much time and energy holding up lap bars. Put your hands up, look ahead of you, and start concentrating on having fun!

Chris, I somewhat agree with you. I also preferred the G trains on Legend. The PTCs are much more comfortable, but IMHO they just don't turn well enough to deliver the slam bang ending of Legend that the G trains did. Say what you will about the G trains, but I don't think anyone can fault the way they track.

I disliked both Twisted Tweakers and Villian, but that had as much to do with steel-supports and bad layouts as it did with the G trains.

The only G-trains I've liked were Legends, and yes I thought they performed better than the PTCs. But the Legend PTCs still hauled serious asterisk!

Whoa there Bass.....I'll buy the bad layout thing with respect to TT/TS....but NOT with Villain....Springtime of '01, that thing was *fan-freakin-tastic*....

My thoughts: I think the G-trains ARE harder on the track, AND that SFWoA did NOTHING in terms of maintenance on Villain. Also, the *later* CCI's DO show some signs of "less-than-stellar" reinforcement of the track/structure. The G-trains track well provided that the gauge is near-perfect throughout, and on the twister-type layouts of Legend and the Twins, it's hard to maintain them THAT well. On an out-n-back like Villain, it SHOULD be relatively easy....all that being said, I *do* vastly prefer strong lapbar springs....Ga Cyclone, DBH, KG's Twister have 'em, and it is NICE to come back to the station with the lapbar *right where ya left it*....:)

Maybe they'll take a ride on Corny and have PTC produce some more Buzz-bars. Better yet, S&S could build some NAD replicas.
rollergator's avatar
boblo, one ride on Cornball and they'd be AFRAID to ask for buzz-bars....that's right Corny is good enough to make *even Stan* think twice....awesome!

Springtime of 2001, that was when I rode Villian. ;-)

It wasn't horrible, but it didn't do much for me, either. I'd rate it ahead of Twisted Sisters CCI-wise but behind everything else...including the Sky Princess!

Villain [and Boss] are my two least-favorite CCIs. I rate Sky Princess and Sisters over them, too.
Villain and Boss are two of my favorites. So there.

Wow Bass....that's surprising....we went post-SRM and had a great day at SFWoA...everything but RWB was running well, the place was fairly clean, the employees were decent, etc. I guess we paid for that day since then....but the park was nice when we were there...

Sky Princess, that was a *surprisingly* good ride....met up with joey isch while getting in lots o' laps on that one....

But they will all PALE in comparison to the WW/EV woodie, Tremors, Coaster, and M:TR...;)

What trains are used on the Rampage at Visionland? I love thoughs, I think they are the most comfortable trains that I have ever ridden on. I don't know a lot about the trains but I know that for a big guy like myself those trains were nice and roomy, so much more than say the ones used on TGC or ASM at SFoG with their dividers between the riders.
nasai's avatar

Yes, they will Gator! Yes, they will....:) M:TR? (Say hello to my little friend;)) Don't know if we will be able to hit that! Don't worry though, as there will be plenty of udon and soba to go around.
