"Strapping" something to the side of a ride like that would be something for people to look at. Although, I've experienced the future, and the Acro-type drop is the way to scare the people.

Walk from Batwing to the Batroom sometime and you'll understand about the importance of locating bathrooms.  Even some of the theme park simulators include this.

They won't do it because the people will be facing the parking lot and they don't want that for their park patrons. If they where to build one it would be in the center off the park for a panoramic view. Why do you think you go up X backwards? So you can see the park and not a dead hillside with new homes.
