At no park did I get one as I walked into the park, although at SFNE I saw a bundle pack with EVERY SF's 2006 park map (including SFNE) which was somewhere around $20. IIRC, I think it worked out to $1-per-map plus 95ยข The funny thing is that even though I'd have been purchasing a map I just got for free not even 10 minutes earlier, I almost sprang for it. Now that 7 of the parks are no longer SF, perhaps I should have. :)
In 2005, I remember those same maps being $5 each in all the SF parks I visited. In both 2005 & 2006, I noticed similar souvenir maps for $1/each (after local tax rates figured in, not before)
So then parking is only $10 with the forced purchase of a map, right?
Nothing in life is free.
-Six Flags Marine World has been renamed now.
-Six Flags Elitch Gardens and Darian Lake are no more.
-Six Flags Great Adventure removed freefall and stuff.
-Six Flags Magic Mountain is removing Flashback and Psyclone.
-Six Flags St. Louis and Fiesta Texas are getting new coasters.
-Six Flags Great America is getting a new themed area.
I could go on. There are a lot of changes so now I have some nice collectable maps.
I would get the Cedar Point one, especially since Maverick is going to be built.
So you purchase a free Cedar Point Map? That just doesn't seem to make sense to me... ;) *** Edited 1/26/2007 4:18:12 AM UTC by DantheCoasterman***
I pull up, roll the window down, hand out a $20. They hand back a "free" map and a $5 bill. Ok, so that one was included in the parking. Then I say "Would I be able to get 2 more? One for each of my friends?" (who are in the car). Without hesitation or excuses, the employee reaches back in the parking booth, grabs 2 more, and says "Sure! Thank you for visiting Six Flags, and enjoy your day!" -- and this happened at more than one park. SFA there were actually 4 of us, and they gave us 3 extra, free, maps when we asked.
Or am I just sadly dilusional? :)
