Ok, stupid question:
Has anyone on these boards actually ridden the thing yet? Interested in a review...

Have you forgotten the first rule of a coaster forum? All opinions about a coaster MUST be expressed and posted BEFORE actually riding!!! ;) The penalty for not doing so is a six-hour marathon on Dark Knight.

I happen to like Dark Knight ;).
Some of us feel that we have rode enough coasters over our lifetime to have a good idea of how a coaster will feel upon watching a POV. I don't see anything wrong with that. Different people have a different awareness for how a ride will feel, judging from memory of riding coasters and what they recall visually, speed and direction, while they rode them.
Just because you don't have that particular super power doesn't mean that you should criticize those who do. ..At least, that's how I see it.

Perhaps, but as a counterpoint, I've ridden 1594 different coasters to date and I don't feel qualified to judge a coaster by its POV. Anyway I'm going to get out to Abu Dhabi at some point soon, I hope, and should be able to post a serious opinion at that stage.
I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.

Yeah Richard B, get on it! :-)
To be fair, I am one of the ones confidently judging the ride from the POV and have even made claims of being able to tell that it's running slower than it was designed to.
I just wanted to know if anyone had ridden it to loudly shoot down and/or confirm our predictions. What if it's running faster since those POVs were shot? What if it hasn't but it's fun anyway and I'm wrong? Not everything I say has to be snarky and sarcastic... does it?

And that's what should make this little "hobby" of ours fun. Everyone likes different things.

I don't think I'll be heading that way anytime soon! The UAE just decided to impose visas on canadians visiting the country. So, if I'm going to pay money and go through the trouble of getting a visa, I will go where its cheaper and there is more to see... China.

I agree. But it seems like there is a lot of time and energy spent on this site (and others) telling people that their opinion of a coaster is flat out wrong.
You're wrong.

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Original. ;)

A childhood friend always said to me, "Your opinion is wrong!" I always got a chuckle out of that.

I think everyone is wrong most of the time.
Fortunately, I'm right...all the time.
...and all y'all's opinions suck too.
God, its almost as bad as Cheetah Hunt! ;)
