For those that complain about the lack of flats...

For those of you that have been whining about the lack of flat rides in the new Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and the seemingly lack of new flats, just reconditioned flats in Wacky Worlds, head out to www.rct2.com.

Someone just made a working flat ride that isnt based on another flat ride in the game. It has it's own animations and everything. The ride is a swing ride, not unlike a wave swinger or yo yo. Also released was an editor so that other people can make their own rides. Thank god Chris Sawyer made the code extensible enough to do this. I think we are going to see some really amazing stuff here in the future...

I already have the working swinger ride & it's great :) I can't wait to see what other flats the people can create using the new ride editor.

From the looks of things though it seems that any new rides created must be based on existing rides in the game,the swing ride is based on the snow cup ride which is why there's a small glitch in the animation,but it's such a mior problem that it's not even noticable.

Where do I go for these pictures...I was at that thread site where he says the stuff about tutorials...Where are the pictures of the working rides?

I downloaded some of his Amazing Earls rides. Peeps can't ride them but they do look pretty cool. Some are a little tough to get running right on your game. The Tilt A Whirl has several pieces and you need to keep rotating the screen an adding the pieces or you will only see it in one direction.

These arent the same rides that you are referring to coasterpunk. This Swinger ride is an honest to goodness new flat ride that actually works. It has full animation and it allows the peeps to ride it. This is currently the only ride developed. They are working on more right now.

There's a site out there where someone made a couple of dark rides, too. A castle walk-through, and another. They actually work with peeps, too. The link to it is on Amazing Earl's site.

Iwas looking in the wrong place, I can't get on RCT2.com fourms becasue I can't sign up for an acount and some how my account got balleted for being inactive. Trust me when I say this: the swinger ride that you can get from the interactivities link is an honest to godness fully functioning peep freindly ride!

Once you download it just stick it in your objectdata folder(it's a complicated task but it can be done) & it will appear in the ride selection screen of the scenario editor.

When you include the swinger in a scenario it will appear in the gentle rides tab of the select new ride screen & you just build it in the same manner that you would use when building a scrambler or top spin in your park.

Maybe someone could upload a park in the games section with the swinger and the Laser tag. Then we all could get it. That's how I got the othe stuff,Wild west show, castle, dippin dots ect.

I tried that route over at thrillnetwork & it doesn't work.

You must manually unzip & extract the ride data into the object data folder,othrwise you get a missing object data error message when trrying to open the park containing the ride.

There's a new ride available & this time it's a tracked ride.

The latest custom ride offering to hit the web since the ride converter was made available is a moto cross raceway,this ride is basically the go-karts from RCT2 but with off road bikes in place of the karts & can be used to create custom tracks.

You can download the moto cross ride from the same site as the swinger ride,there should be a link to the page already in this thread.

Not to doubt you Batwingfan but earlier someone loaded a park with the wild west show and the castle ride along with the new food stalls andi was able to pick them up simply by downloading the park

If someone could just try it I would appreciate it since I've downloaded the rides from the site and then checked for them in my senario editor and found nothing.
