Flaw in Scream @ SFMM?

That's true. I mean Riddler rides on top of the track and has inversions as well. Perhaps it is just isolated to the floorless model.
Could the roughness potentially come from that the footers are formed in the concerte parking lot?. Compared to how most other BM's are lotted out on a piece of grass land?. I just thought this could be a reasonable point of discussion.

SFDLdan - Doubtful...only Scream is in a parking lot. How would it explain the same experience on Dominator [Geaugu] and Knight Flight [SFNE]?
To the locals that frequent SFMM on a regular basis:

Was Scream under maintenance possibly the end of January? I ask this because when I was there the first week of February, Scream really had no sudden jolts or mass vibration when I rode it. I really enjoyed the ride. Took back row, front row, and a couple middle seats and didn't notice any serious vibrations on the ride.

While it sounds like a freak thing for me to catch it on a good day, I hope that isn't the case.

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Scott, I can say that knowing your love for "all things intense" (if this could be called intense ;)), then I guess it could be that you caught it on a good day. For the rest of us, it's a rough (for whatever reason) ride. That's too bad, too, because I love most B&Ms.

I guess the dayafter Solace was a good day for it too, I rode in the middle and loved it. But, then I loved Dominator as well.

I know Tina liked it, and Dannerman and Jamaal liked it as well. Tim said it was smoother than his last ride on Medusa, and this was before we had heard anything negative about it.

Different Strokes, maybe?

Edit: Wow. I made that many spelling mistakes in one post? When did 'said' turn into 'sayed'? Ugh! Let this be a lesson to everyone: If you make mistakes, we have an edit button to fix them... *** Edited 4/20/2005 6:31:15 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***

Pale Rider,

I feel the shaking sensation the greatest while riding in the front of Dominator. It's so strong sometimes that I no longer care for riding in the front row.

Scream is a strange coaster. The inversions did feel smooth but there were more than a couple times where I couldn't believe how bouncy it was. I originally thought it might be the train design but considering I haven't felt it on either Medusa coasters or Superman at SFFT, I think there is a chance it could be related to the fabrication process.

^Flaming Nasai. Just kidding, hun. :-P

I am not really much for tech talk since I only judge a coaster by the way it *feels* but.........

I LOVED Scream just like my WV (and Allentown, PA) peeps, but then again I have particular and fussy tastes in coasters.

I had TWO (three IF Flashback were open) credits to get at SFMM during Solace week. I had VERY low expectations of the Scream, but was pleasantly surprised. I would even go so far as to say I enjoyed it more than X (which would of been PERFECT if it had less headbanging). Sorry, Jodi. lol.

Not that I DIDN'T love X......I am still trying to figure out WTF happened on that one. :-P

Anyway, Scream is very underrated in my book. If nobody likes it on the west coast can I have it shipped to me? :-)

I'm not dissing the coaster or anything agruing that it gives a bad or good ride. For one I've never been out to Cali, hopefully that will change this summer when my family takes a trip to Arizona to visit fam, I really want to hit up SFMM and KBF, since for one I've never been to either park and second I don't know if I'd ever have a another chance anytime soon. I've been waiting for this day to come for quite some time now.

someone just has to have an idea what's wrong with SCREAM!
Bouncing can only be due to:

1 Badly manufactured rails

2 Bad wheels

3 Bad contact between wheels and rail (generally not a problem on B&Ms)

4 Badly calibrated spring assemblies (creating resonances with wheel rotation at certain speeds)

5 High gas prices

6 Beast Tamer convinced B&M that bumpy coasters are more fun.
...

I think that's about it.
So which one is it? *** Edited 4/20/2005 1:58:38 PM UTC by superman***

STOP trying to phonetically type out Jamaal's speech ...;) LOL!

Scream!....yeah, I *noticed* the vibration, but honestly, just like BDK, it didn't really BOTHER me...just that I felt it, which is generally (among Beemas anyhow) something I only expect to find on Hulk...meh!

I ended up power-riding Medusa at SFMW at the end of the day on my last visit this past summer, and it was almost as smooth as glass. I rode it brand new in 2000, and was the smoothest ride I ever had on any coaster.
Now, on my visit to SFMM, Scream!™ was as rough as Dominator, which was very rough, IMO. I could stand for two rides on each, and you know something, that was plenty! In both cases, there are those *strange* individuals who rode the same day as I who swear it was smooth. ;)
Yet again, I find myself agreeing with Nasai.

They Live. We Sleep.

Isn't Scream a B&M Flawless Coaster though?

^ Punches you in the face for that one.

Every time I've ridden scream, I've had no desire to do it more than once. I would much rather stick to the green and grey B&Ms over yonder across the park.
