Flatspotting 101?

Jeff,
Although I pretty well knew everything in the editorial, I appreciated the education of Trackspotting 101. I was wondering if you were considering writing another spotter's guide for flat rides. I'd love to see a pictorial guide to what exactly a Mondial Top Scan and a Huss Frisbee look like. Thanks!

Later,
EV

That's not a bad idea. We'd have to get people to offer their photos, but it's not a bad idea. If someone would be willing to write it I'd be happy to permanently add it to the site!

I have some photos I could offer, and would be happy to help with putting the whole thing together. There are plenty of other Buzzers with more knowledge of flatrides than I have, though.

That is a great idea and would certainly be an invaluable tool for me.

Right now, if you're looking to find out what a certain ride looks like, the best way to do it is to take a look at the manufacturer's site. For instance,

Mondial Topscan: http://www.mondialrides.com/ie/products/topscan/index.html
Huss Frisbee: http://www.hussrides.com/54ClassicFrisbee.htm

And just because I love it so much, my favorite Mondial Topscan photo: http://oneclick.coasterbuzz.com/html/pic.asp?img=/photos/fantasyisland/beast_01.jpg

Excellent idea. While I think I've got my coasters down, I'm not extremely familiar with all these new-fangled flats and companies.

I sure would love to see this as I don't know a whole lot about flat rides.

Chance!
I heard a rumor (maybe its not a rumor) that "Rideman" Dave Althoff Jr. has the ability to identify rides on trailers while they are transit :)
I have plenty of pictures on SFNE Central of all the notable flats. I just have to wait for my DNS on http://sfne.com to change so I can start doing my site again.

All I ask for is a small link back to my site on any page that the pictures are on. I'll post URL's when my site is back up and running again.

These are the photos I have:
HUSS Frisbee
HUSS TopSpin
HUSS Breakdance
HUSS Fly Away
HUSS Magic Carpet
Chance Chaos
Chance Double Inverter
Vekoma Air Jumper
...some more others...

Reply to the thread if you're interested, Jeff.

I can take pictures of any of Dorney's flats.

Please let me know if you want any. I would also like a link, just as SFNE Freak.

I think he means that if/when a Flatspotting 101 article comes out, he would like credit for any pictures used.
