What I don't get is, if they don't ever run it, why don't they get rid of it? I mean, woohoo, look at Flashback...sitting there...doing nothing...
Like I said, got to keep that coaster count up there. Somebody once told me that they would cycle it when the park was closed just so they could say that it was operable.
How loud is this coaster. Lord Gonchar, you've seen it run in person, is it really that bad?
"Flashback" is a great coaster, considering what it is. Hope it's open when you vacation !

You really have no idea. This thing rivals Mantis and all ear-drum popping B&M rides when it comes to noise. The "roars" are not as prolonged in comparison 'cause its speed is not consistent due to its odd design, but it gets very loud at the bottom of each roll-over.
Call me crazy, but I actually liked Flashback....if you prepare yourself, I found it to be a very unique and fun ride. *** Edited 11/6/2004 5:39:35 AM UTC by cdrpointcrazy44***

Again, Flashback's operational status, or lack there-of, has NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH to do with the park wanting to have 16 coasters.
And it would probably be cheaper to get rid of Flashback (and its operational costs, maintenance, staffing, etc.) and just put in a small kiddy coaster to keep that count up anyhow.
I have had my eye on this coaster for a long time. I think that it looks very fun. I'm sure there are harsh critics surrounding this ride (as with any ride) but for some reason I just want to ride this thing. I was going to start a topic about a week or so ago about the ride and it's operational status but now, someone has done all the legwork for me! :) I really think it'd be cool if they ever decide to get rid of it, to send it on over here to SFKK. What a perfect addition it would be too! The noise of the ride wouldn't be a factor here either as the jumbo jets roaring overhead couldn't possibly be any louder! (don't forget Chang sits nearby too!)

That stinks because I just went to SFMM not to long ago and it wasn't running, however now it is. :( I missed it! Oh well, hopefully it will be running next time ago instead of just having another eye sore.
You really didn't miss much, Dr. Doom. I *promise*.
The restraints are identical to the ones found on Revolution- metallic lapbar and sadistic nipple clamp OTSRs. That alone is enough to make me want to hurl.
They also tend to get tighter as your on the ride so they crush your gut and you cant breath, even better you can barely see cause the train's design is so tall...but, haha, DESPITE THOSE FACTS, I still like this ride...I can't believe its open...now making a trip to the Mountain tommorow, me. I wonder how long its gonna be up and running...

Like Crashmando said, it's only open when the water park is closed. It has a very loud "roar" like B&M coasters and if it did run while Hurricane Harbor was open, it would make it VERY hard for the lifeguards to hear someone who may be yelling for help in the wavepool...or at least that's the theory I seem to hear most often.
If that is the case why would they build HH at SFGAM next to Raging Bull? That has a loud roar. I dont think Raging Bull will be closed while HH is open.
