Wow...talk about an old thread!

Yeah, jephry was still around. ;)

The Flying Turns makes all the right people wet - Gonch

The OTSR and coffin-styled cars are there for a reason. The way the ride was designed (way to go Intamin!), the supports come very close to certain track sections so that its compact stacked layout could be achieved - and if riders are heavily restrained, there could be some damanged limbs.
Wow, Moosh, I didn't even notice that when I replied. Stop it with the Zombie Threads people! *** Edited 9/17/2005 12:44:45 AM UTC by TeknoScorpion***
Not much has changed in 5 years, the ride is still closed in the summer and rumors about it being (re)moved still persist. Was it ever painted? Six Flags really needs to put this ride back in the rotation program or just pull the damn plug on it. 5 years of this is ridicules.
Actually, it is even closed in the off season as well.

One visit to SFMM, one Flashback credit. Yay me!

The ride is so bad, it's good. It's just so ridiculously horrible that you HAVE to ride it again.

Then you have to get a CAT Scan. ;)

*looks at list* Yep. Gonch still sucks.

Not going back there without taking Gonch as "insurance"....LOL!

I actually rode the Toboggan at Trimpers twice...in my defense, it *was* my first Toboggan. Now I'm more experienced and only take the ONE lap....*all* Toboggans suck...like Volares...and the Vekoma kiddie inverts...but Flashback is *unique*... ;)

Ditto Gonch!

That ride is just plain silly. I had to ride it a second time (in the back seat) just to make sure this was as awful as it was. The G-forces are so insane it'll rip your face off!

I really want to go on Flashback. I've heard so many differing opinions. But alas I live in Buffalo, NY.

(just for the record, I went on the volare and kiddy vekoma invert at PCW and hated both of them lol... I also hate SLC's and arrow multi-loopers) \m/

I don't believe a word of that, Rob. You spent the whole day talking about how awesome it was. ;)

I think Flashback looks very cool. Unfortunatly I live in Cleveland. I was at Magic Mountain in 2003 but unfortunatly it was not running at the time of my trip, nor was X. I plan to make another trip to LA once i have enough "frequent flyer miles" that I earn on my debit card. I hope both are opperating by the time I am able to go.

Quite a few people may disagree with this, Jason, but X is worth at least one trip to SFMM, IMVHO.

John,

I think I felt the ride was so awesome because I would get to brag about it later on CBuzz.

What is it with me liking the painful rides?

~Rob Willi

X Is definitely worth the experience.

...even if tekno totally ditches you to get the front row :P

Flashback is a little annoying. They should either fix/open it or tear it out and stop torturing us younger enthusiasts who didn't have the opportunity to ride. :(

Hey, I made a promise to nasai that my first ride would be in the front. But you got your front ride too, didn't you? Didn't you? ;)

Finally found my disk of pictures to add to the list. One really good one of X on the way into the park.

Yes, I did get my "front" ride... :)

Although, if I may digress from Flashback to X, besides the ride itself, one of the intriguing things about the ride is that due to the nature of the way the seat/car flips you, the "front" row is kinda-sorta the back, traveling backward. (I think anyone who's ridden it, or at least seen it go up the lift, knows what I mean).
