AVOID the Festhaus. There, you can get overpriced, burned LaRosa's pizza. If you really want that stuff, go to the pizza joint on International St. or back in Rivertown between Vortex and The Beast.
The best food in the park may well be Bubba Gump's Shrinp Shack, but be wary if you're not into fried food. Skyline is also good...available from the Lunch Basket in Coney Mall, across from the Monster. Or you can also get the Skyline coneys in foot-long form from the Footlong Express in Rivertown next to the canyon ride and the train station. While you're back at Footlong Express, there is also a fry stand back there that has decent fresh-cut fries.
The often-overlooked option is to the Southwest of the Eiffel Tower...the park's pastry shop is an OK place to get either a fresh pretzel, or something for breakfast.
Unfortunately, though, while Kings Island has some OK food choices, it really isn't known for having good food. If you want good food, go South on IR-71 two exits to the first exit South of IR-275, Fields Ertel Rd., which is a particularly confusing interchange, but which offers just about any national chain restaurant you could want.

What is a Coney? Ah yes, the age old question. I have had this discussion with 2 other buzzers. None of us consider a coney the same thing (well one never even heard of it before). To me a coney is a hotdog with a meaty cilli with no beans on it. (Think almost like a "sloppy joe" consistency) I like mine with cheese on it sometimes but not all the time.

I've only been to PKI once, and we ate at Outback or Lone Star or some steak place like that in the afternoon, and only had soft pretzels and ice cream at the park. I don't often eat at parks, unless there is something unique to the area (like that restaurant at Indiana Beach), or the food is good and reasonably priced (like Knoebels). But I remember liking the Bubba Gump shrimp place at PKD, so I'd imagine the one at PKI would probably be good too.

There is a Steak 'N Shake, a Waffle House, an O'Charleys, an Applebee's, a Frisch's Big Boy, a Skyline, and I think a Lone Star Steakhouse at the Fields Ertel Rd. exit from IR-71, South of the park. Drive a little further at that exit, and you can find a Chipotle, TGI Friday's, Burger King, and a half a dozen other options.

The Fields Ertel exit is a MAJOR traffic jam during evening rush hour though........just to forwarn you DragonRider. :-)
