First S&S woodie.....

rollergator's avatar

So, now that it's "come about", there's the question of the day.....

Being a "know-nothing", I only get guesses.....since I love it so much, here's my top three choices for the first wooden coaster under the new partnership out of Utah....in deference to David Letterman, you get them in reverse order:

#3....SFMM.....hey, these are MY guesses, and I know I'll get disagreement.....they need decent wood, CA is close to "the shop", and I figured why not go for a longshot...

#2.....Bell's....I'm not sure what came of their plans, but the area NEEDS a coaster, a good wooden one....and this company will DELIVER thrills if either CCI or S&S gives any indication....

#1....PGA....the only Paramount Park without ANY wooden coasters....;)

Arguments, as always, are welcomed and appeciated....

Ya, maybe they'd be one to get decent wood too. I haven't riddent he other Paramount wood besides PKI and I haven't heard to good either. What about CP, they haven't gotten wood since Mean Streak and it's a bomb they don't have a launched woodie yet :sarcasm::

Has CCI made any terrain woodies? If not, SFMM would be a great opportunity at a first attempt, seeing as the place is loaded with hills. Not too many parks can account for that. I think a Washington park should recieve some more wood. Even though i'm not from that part of town, we should share the wealth. After that, terrain woodie for Magic Mountain!!!

Is it a dream or a memory? It's both, it's X

PGA does have a woodie even though for the most part we like to turn away and pretend it isn't there

Aughhh look out there are Mice all around

Can't blame you for doing that though.

Thanks to Paramount (more correctly, the owners of the chain before them), Wonderland Sydney (formerly Australia's Wonderland), has a "brilliant" clone of your Grizzly. It is one of two regular wooden coasters in Australia (other being a Beastie clone), and I certainly can't blame other parks here for not picking up on the Wooden Coaster idea having seen this waste of wood.

Maybe S&S will build their first ride downunder, with the unveiling of a new Wooden Coaster at one of the Gold Coast trio.

Wishful thinking, more than anything else, I guess.

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

I'm still saying it'll be the first compressed air launch woodie...

My guess for their first woodie (prototype) is at their headquarters in Utah. ;)

Don't forget that where we first saw TA2K.

I don't see the first "S&S Woodie" being anything different than what CCI used to build. I'm sure Stan will have a big say in what he would like to see in the designs. But I doubt that this new partnership will create radical changes in wooden coaster design.

After all, what NEW innovations did CCI bring to the world of wooden coasters to make them (in many people's opinions) "the best?" Nothing, they just did them really well.

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

I think SFAW because haven't they been wanting a woodie from CCI for a couple years.

#1 Steel-Nitro
#1 Wood-Shivering Timbers

If SFAW has been wanting a CCI for "so many years", why didn't they get one? It's not like they shouldn't be able to afford it. CCIs are not expensive at all.

I don't see S&S building any woodies at all because they don't have any CCI engineers.

Just because Denise Dinn was hired to work at S&S DOES NOT freakin' mean there will be a hybrid cross between a wood ride and a air powered catapult!

All it means that S&S will now have a wood coaster production department.

What's up with Bells anyway? I haven't heard anything from them in ages.

TOGO!
Or how about the New Mexico Rattler? Is it even testing yet?
They could have hired Denise Dine to design some of S&S's rides. I would like for S&S to stay with the vertical rides.
