Firefox Problems

Maybe someone can help me. I cannot get logged in to my CB account while in Mozilla Firefox. I type in my user name and password, and it just comes righ back to the same screen again, without loggin me in. I'm using IE right now to write this message, but I like Firefox better. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, and do you have any solutions?

Thanks,

Jeff Young

I've been a Firefox user for over two years now and I've never had that problem. All I get is the "object moved to here" link (which has been around for longer than I've been using Firefox, actually).

Clear your cookies, clear your cache. That'd be a good place to start.

Funny...that's actually happened to me several times, but I was using IE. Since I switched to Firefox I don't think I've had that problem. (maybe once?)

I've tried clearing my cookies/cache, closing out the browser, starting again etc...but it just wouldn't work sometimes. And even if it does work it's a pain in the @#! so I just try again later. ;)

I use FireFox too.. never had any problems with it on CoasterBuzz
Use Safari and experience a decent browser.
I use Firefox for everything on the Internet and have never had problems before. Make sure your pushing the "sign In" button instead of just hitting enter.

Oddly enough, cleaing cache and cookies worked for me. However, I was logging in for the first time on my brand new laptop. I'm not sure why that made a difference, but it did.

Maybe if/when they release OS10 for Intel chips I will, even then I would still probably use Firefox until something better comes around.

TonyBlackjack, check out [url="http://www.getfirefox.com/">Firefox or Opera. Internet Explorer = bad.

Bah, I don't care for Firefox. IE's just fine.

IE7 should make some decent improvements - probably feeling a bit more like Firefox, go figure. Once Firefox gets popular enough, you'll see the same exploits and security issues pop up.

I guess it's just what I'm used to. Never had any serious issue with IE.

There are already a few exploits, but they have been fixed. I doubt we will ever see the ridiculous things IE allowes though.

Extensions and the fact that Firefox actually renders pages how they should without hacks are reason enough for me. Actually, extensions are pretty nice. I have a few developer extensions that have helped far more than any full featured wysiwyg editor has, I have an rss reader and a bookmark synchronizer as well.

I am not trying to convince anyone, just saying...

OS X for Intel is around, and machines using it are planned for early to mid next year. I still use Firefox though, for sites that don't want to work with Safari.

I ended up switching to Firefox almost two years ago when a flaw in IE got me spyware. The flaw was fixed, but the drive-by install was good enough for me to quit. Honestly there are no feature differences impressive enough to change for that reason alone, but the security thing I'm sensitive to.

Apple is switching all their computers to Intel processors. OS X, starting with the latest Tiger update (10.4.3) has activated the OS's support of the Intal processor.

I just want a Powerbook running Windows, I actually kind of dislike OS10.

Firefox renders pages faster/better too.

True, but I'm not going to invest in the overpriced Apple hardware to play with the system. Now, when OS X runs on any stock PC, THEN I'll buy a copy to play with...

(I give it a week after the Apple hardware ships, offically putting the X86 OS X out there, before the relevant hacks are published ;) )

Ha, I had the exact same problem with Firefox...its actually a simple fix...you have to allow cookies and scripts...its all in the options...go through the menu to find it and allow those options...play around...i got it to work...and after that I had no problem even when installing newer versions.
I use Firefox on my laptop for the sole reason that IE doesn't allow me to access my webmail. I could never figure out why that is...

Both Firefox and IE have their pros and cons and in the end, I couldn't care less about which one I use as long as it works. Has anyone experimented/used Mozilla's Thunderbird for email? Is it any better than Outlook?

Thunderbird feels the same as Outlook Express to me. I just use it for very basic email reasons though.
I use Outlook at work and Thunderbird at home. I think Thunderbird has a better spam filter. Other than that I can't say I really prefer one over the other. Of course Mozilla was free so saying it is just as good as Outlook is a pretty good endorsement.
