The real question is...Raptor over anything? Well, maybe Great Bear or PGA's Top Gun.
I still love Raptor, just not as much as most of the other B&M inverteds I've been on. I remember my very last ride at Cedar Point like it was yesterday. Front row, right seat, nighttime, it was incredible. Yet still I found myself having more fun on the others.
Aww **** it, just go out and ride.

*confused look* How did a trip report turn into a debate on whether or not Raptor is more intense?
Im still waiting on someone to show me proof, in writing, that one inverted coaster is more intense than the other.

And they came to a factual conclusion that one inverted coaster was better than another?..I dont think so. Where is this info at?..Intil then, I will continue to question general/broad statements such as yours and others.....

"I actually thought the Great Bear was a pretty fine ride. It is a very short ride, but it definitely had some great foot choppers!"
As do I, except for that ending.

You are changing things now. You will get no arguement with me on which is BETTER. True, I like B:TR more, but I understand that others like Raptor. That's fine and good.
BUT, the question on which coaster is more INTENSE I honestly dont feel is open for debate. Now, despite people that both prefer Raptor and B:TR saying that B:TR is the more INTENSE of the twain, you are not satisfied. I again inquire, WHAT PROOF WOULD BE SUFFICIENT FOR YOU. My gut reaction says nothing will satisfy you so your demand for evidence is nothing more than egotistical posturing...
though my gut has be wrong before ;)

If I had known my T.R. was going to cause so much b$$$$ing, I would not have posted it. I like Raptor cause it taller, faster, and the cobra roll is one of the better elements of the ride.
With regards to Goliath, I only found airtime on the first drop, whereas I find it all over Millennium Force.
With regards to being dirty, the park was a mess...
You can slam me for whatever you want, but I know what I say, and what my opinion is...no need to debate my opinion...

I can't believe you didn't wait for Viper. It's got the highest capacity at the park. You can enter at the very end of the queue and be in the front seat in 7 minutes or less! Deja Vu is blah. Gold Rusher is truly my third favorite coaster at the park (behind X and Riddler). You should have ridden it. It may be small and seem crappy, but it packs a nice punch, especially in the back at night. Hopefully you can make another trip to SFMM and ride everything. I can't believe you skipped some rides. As for Goliath, yeah, it sucks now. I do not like how the lift hill slows down and how hard the MCBR is on. I rode it a month after it opened and the lift was fast at the top and the brakes were barely on. I nearly blacked out in the helix. Too bad it's overbraked now. It was an amazing ride, but I'd take MF any day over Goliath.
I can't believe you didn't find airtime on the camelback on Goliath. That's the best (and only air other than the drop) on the ride! And you shouldn't really compare the park to CP unless you have ridden everything and gone in with a closed mind.
Opinions are opinions, but B:TR is hands down the most intense invert/roller coaster of them all. Sorry you had a bad time at SFMM. Don't give up on the park just yet.
Have you ever ridden Fire Dragon at IOA? That is my favorite inverted coaster (even over Raptor, which comes in a close second) but it is by far the most intense inverted coaster I have ever ridden. It is far more intense than B:TR.

Magic Mountain is a very average park. The rides are top-notch (with some exceptions) but you get a sense while you're walking around there that nobody who works there gives a sh*t about anything. I also like parks where you can walk around and get a sense of the history of the park, but at SFMM it's just like they plop down the newest/tallest/fastest ride wherever it geometrically fits. All things considered, SFMM was a pretty big disappointment for me.

Oh come on guys. So you perfer CP to SFMM, big deal. No need to make up stuff to make the park seem worse. In over 200 visits to SFMM, the park operations were always top notch. You will NEVER find a day when those poor underpaid people are not cleaning the park. Give me a break. Give your honest opinions sure, but when you start making stuff up just to give your homepark the edge, that's just immature and silly.
As for the Batman debate, Batman's intensity is legendary. You can't just erase that to make Raptor look better. I don't get enthusiasts anymore. Most of you will say almost ANYTHING to make sure your favorite park stays on top.
To me that takes all the fun out of visiting other parks. Might as well stay home. You've already found perfection, what's the point(so to speak).

Gotta agree with 2Hostyl in this debate.

I've always found the "such and such is better" debate to be weak. It cheapens the experience IMO to reduce every coaster down to "I liked it but blah blah was better. So what? There is always a coaster better than another one. To me that's not an expressed opinion so much as a list of biases.
I'm not picking on the person who initiated this thread, I liked the TR. But more and more I'm seeing every coaster compared to one I may or may not ever ride. Can't we find more interesting ways to describe a first ride on a coaster?
