Fed up with CP?

For cripe sake people! All I wanted to know is if anyone else shared my same eagerness and enthusiasm for the announcement of the new ride! As a huge coaster and CP fan, I can't wait to find out what's new, when it opens, etc., etc. I'm not dogging CP! Just trying to start a fun little discussion about the new ride! Geesh! Give me a break!
sorry about that, i just have a passion for non-corporate parks.
Dude, come on, everybody knows what it is, why do you care about an announcement?

also it takes two days to comfortably visit the park, especially those with families.

that's a bad thing??

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

Actually, ravenguy98 has a point.  Virginiareelfan really just said that CP has so many attractions that it would take 2 days to experience them all.  And I agree.
Virginareelfan does kinda have a point.  I mean when compared to other rides that are out there the only things that are really special are MF, Gemini, and Power Tower.  Besides those theirs nothing really special to do once you've been to a lot of parks.  But if you havn't been around then CP is awesome and all the rides are special, well except Mean Streak and Iron Dragon.

My biggest beef with the impulse, if thats what it is, is that you can already ride one less than 2hrs away.  I don't see why people get all hyped up when you can already ride one at SFWOA.  And I find it funny that SFWOA is usually the most bashed park on this site, but when CP is going to get a ride that SFWOA has had for 2 years people get excited about it.

That's because it's one less reason to go to poorly run park.

What's your point... who wouldn't want Magnum, Raptor and Millennium Force in their park? How many parks can even say they have that many world-class coasters? Of the parks I've been to, I could count them on fingers alone.

Well, I personally don't know any parks that have more world-class coasters than I could count on my fingers and I and even if the next six at CP are world-class, I still wouldn't get to counting on my toes... And yes, I do know some parks that have more than 3-4 world-class coasters IMO: IOA, PKI, BGT, SFGAm, BGW, just to name a few.

And why would anyone want the new coaster to start with M? That's the last thing I would hope it would start with: Millennium Force, Mantis, Mean Streak, Magnum. I guess they think M is good luck although, well, we all know Mean Streak, and I personally can't really stand Mantis. If it's a pattern for me, the next M won't be so hot.

And I still think it would have been a better idea for them to get a coaster like Volcano. Cheap or out of space? ;)

Can anyone else see the flaw of the American way of life?  Why do the majority of us feel that living in a "fast-food" society is the best way to go?  What ever happened to relaxing, enjoying the anticipation and splendor of a couple days in an amusement park with your family?  I personally feel rushed if I "have" to get all the rides in on one singular day.  At the end of your journey, you're tired, beat, and in most cases cranky beyond belief (y'all haven't met my wife yet).  Why not relax, look around, take in the sounds.  Examine the faces of the children and see the happiness in their eyes as well as the fear of a menacing coaster.  So you can get all the rides in on one day...did you have fun?  Or did you complain because someone line-jumped and they weren't caught?  Why not take two days to get those rides in.  If a line is too long, fine, move down to the next ride...or even the one past that.  Come back later, or even early the next day when the rope drops.  I say take your time CP.  I'm sure whatever the new ride is, it will be worth the wait.  If I can't get on it wednesday morning, then I'll try on thursday.  No sweat off my back.

MI Trooper1: Right on! You know, when I go to CP, I like to hit Gemini or even Woodstock Express just for the heck of it. Why? I'm a coaster enthusiast, and this is my backyard!

And really, it's the same for parks I have to travel to. For example, I rode Corkscrew while at Michigan's Adventure. Why? Why not?

Personally I ride Gemini all the time because its still a damn fine coaster, but i know what you mean.

Heck yeah!

I used to visit SFWoA to ride Batman, Villain, and especially SUE.  I remember going a few times and only riding Superman a couple of times and already wanting to leave.  If Cedar Point installs their own version of this ride, identical or even larger, the only reason I see fit for going back to SFWoA is to ride Batman and Villain.  I doubt I will make many trips out there next season if that is the case.

I like SFWoA!  Out of the big three Ohio parks, I was really disappointed by PKI.  It doesn't say much for a park when I leave at 5pm and they close at 10pm.  It'll take more than a flat ride in a box to get me back there.
Some people experience things differently.  Not everyone wants to spend multiple days at one park.

For me, there are certain parks I don't ever want to leave -- IoA, CP, SFGAm, SFFT to name a few.  I could spend multiple days in a row at those parks and *never* get bored or want to leave.  However, when I'm on a long road trip to parks I've been to before, one day is plenty to spend at a park, especially if there are 10 parks I want to hit on this trip (my annual East Coast trip, for instance).  Spending more than one day at a park means I'll have to miss another park I really wanted to get to.

I've been told that I'm "insane" for doing trips that involve more parks than days.  I don't look at it that way though.  If I've already been to a park, I get my rides in, soak up the atmosphere, and head out when I'm good and ready to.  This is how *I* have fun.  And I understand that this may not be the way everyone else has fun.

When I first started travelling to other parks in 1996, I went to CP for *7* days in a row, and I did that TWICE that year.  I had such a great time and would LOVE to do that again, but now, vacation time is more important to me because I have to work a lot more (even though it doesn't seem like it to some people ;)) so doing seven days a park is not going to happen.

Enough rambling from me, I think I made my point. :)

ILMFJunkie....hehehe, I don't get down to I-94.  Besides, if it was me and you told me you were going to CP to ride MF, I would have given you a lighted escort all the way to the Ohio border. ;)

legendary...understandable.  I feel ya...I know where you're coming from.  There are some parks out there that I specific rides that I want to hit.  In those cases, I have most likely been to the park previously and have experienced all that I want to.  Then in subsequent years, if I travel to those parks again, then I only ride specific rides and can be out of there in under 5 hours.  The point you made is respectable.  I am the same way.  The wife and I spent our honeymoon at CP...4 awesomely wonderful days, no rush, no hurry...no problem. :)

Jeff...next time your out here our way, give me a buzz...we have an extra bed.  I'm the same way about corkscrew, woodstock, gemini and even zach's zoomer.  I love coasters...can't get enough of them.
