also it takes two days to comfortably visit the park, especially those with families.
that's a bad thing??

My biggest beef with the impulse, if thats what it is, is that you can already ride one less than 2hrs away. I don't see why people get all hyped up when you can already ride one at SFWOA. And I find it funny that SFWOA is usually the most bashed park on this site, but when CP is going to get a ride that SFWOA has had for 2 years people get excited about it.

What's your point... who wouldn't want Magnum, Raptor and Millennium Force in their park? How many parks can even say they have that many world-class coasters? Of the parks I've been to, I could count them on fingers alone.
Well, I personally don't know any parks that have more world-class coasters than I could count on my fingers and I and even if the next six at CP are world-class, I still wouldn't get to counting on my toes... And yes, I do know some parks that have more than 3-4 world-class coasters IMO: IOA, PKI, BGT, SFGAm, BGW, just to name a few.
And why would anyone want the new coaster to start with M? That's the last thing I would hope it would start with: Millennium Force, Mantis, Mean Streak, Magnum. I guess they think M is good luck although, well, we all know Mean Streak, and I personally can't really stand Mantis. If it's a pattern for me, the next M won't be so hot.
And I still think it would have been a better idea for them to get a coaster like Volcano. Cheap or out of space? ;)

And really, it's the same for parks I have to travel to. For example, I rode Corkscrew while at Michigan's Adventure. Why? Why not?

That's because it's one less reason to go to poorly run park.
Heck yeah!
I used to visit SFWoA to ride Batman, Villain, and especially SUE. I remember going a few times and only riding Superman a couple of times and already wanting to leave. If Cedar Point installs their own version of this ride, identical or even larger, the only reason I see fit for going back to SFWoA is to ride Batman and Villain. I doubt I will make many trips out there next season if that is the case.

For me, there are certain parks I don't ever want to leave -- IoA, CP, SFGAm, SFFT to name a few. I could spend multiple days in a row at those parks and *never* get bored or want to leave. However, when I'm on a long road trip to parks I've been to before, one day is plenty to spend at a park, especially if there are 10 parks I want to hit on this trip (my annual East Coast trip, for instance). Spending more than one day at a park means I'll have to miss another park I really wanted to get to.
I've been told that I'm "insane" for doing trips that involve more parks than days. I don't look at it that way though. If I've already been to a park, I get my rides in, soak up the atmosphere, and head out when I'm good and ready to. This is how *I* have fun. And I understand that this may not be the way everyone else has fun.
When I first started travelling to other parks in 1996, I went to CP for *7* days in a row, and I did that TWICE that year. I had such a great time and would LOVE to do that again, but now, vacation time is more important to me because I have to work a lot more (even though it doesn't seem like it to some people ;)) so doing seven days a park is not going to happen.
Enough rambling from me, I think I made my point. :)

legendary...understandable. I feel ya...I know where you're coming from. There are some parks out there that I specific rides that I want to hit. In those cases, I have most likely been to the park previously and have experienced all that I want to. Then in subsequent years, if I travel to those parks again, then I only ride specific rides and can be out of there in under 5 hours. The point you made is respectable. I am the same way. The wife and I spent our honeymoon at CP...4 awesomely wonderful days, no rush, no hurry...no problem. :)
Jeff...next time your out here our way, give me a buzz...we have an extra bed. I'm the same way about corkscrew, woodstock, gemini and even zach's zoomer. I love coasters...can't get enough of them.
