Fed up with CP?

Is anyone else getting a bit irritated with CP? All I want to know is specifics on the new coaster (probably intamin impulse). Is this so wrong? Why are they holding out on us? I realize that me being anxious is probably playing into their plan, but come on already! Does anyone know if there is a date set for an announcement?
They announce when they feel like it is the best time to announce.  They don't owe us anything.

Maybe they see all the people protesting about it being "just" an impulse and are changing their minds. :)

Just kidding.

Cedar Point will announce it when they're ready.  Why are they waiting so long?  Well, they probably wanted to wait until the off-season to make sure people still came to the park.  Now that they've waited this long, why not wait until after (or perhaps during?) IAAPA.

Yes, the anticipation is getting to all of us.  I just want to know the darn NAME already.  It will come...

hmmmm....the IAAPA... that's a good point. And about people complaining about "just getting impulse(s)," please. I can't wait to ride it. Especially since it's rumored there will be two of them, higher than any other impulse.
What are you complaining for, CP doesn't owe you anything. Just wait patiently like everyone else.
"just an impulse" what kind of remark is that. Cp will have something special, not something that looks like everyone elses.
Preach it Hatham. Any new coaster is a good coaster in my book. Just think an Intamin Impulse... Cedar Point style!
Well atleast CP didn't announce at the end of Dec.2000 that they were getting just an Impulse(lol) for 2001 and your still waiting on it and it's almost 2002

:::::cough::::::::SFMM::::::::::cough :::X:::

Only when CP does something like that, you can get impatient lol. Even then being impatient really gets you now where, b/c it's not like the parks are going to doing anything more, or faster for you just b/c you can't wait.

Like already stated these parks owe us nothing, so just sit back relax and hopefully the announcement and X will come soon lol.

If you know what it is, what difference does it make?

I don't think most people appreciate what it takes to launch a new product (at least, how to do it right). You've got to deal with concept art, stills, animation, logos, letterhead and envelopes need to be printed, satellite time needs to be booked (in the case of MF, anyway), the staff can't be on vacation or out of town (IAAPA) so they can take media calls... there are a hundred things that go on that most people don't know about.

Cut 'em some slack, eh?

At this point, what possible difference does it make?

Cedar Point just finished a season, and a few people know they're already building something for next season. More to the point, lots of people EXPECT them to build something for next season.

But you know something? Announcing right now wouldn't accomplish much. Think about it: What is the purpose of a winter announcement, anyway? That's right, it's to spur season pass sales. And wouldn't it be just perfect to announce an exciting new ride just as everyone tries to decide what would make a perfect Christmas present for his favorite roller coaster nut?

I say, expect an announcement just in time for the holiday season pass sales blitz. Announcing right now won't give them the exact sales bump they want. Remember, it's marketing. Timing is extremely important!

American parks in general seem to like to let some suspense build...funny how the Brits do it a little different.  Alton Towers in specific names their projects "Secret Weapon", but then the information is leaked out - more like a fire-hydrant than a leaky faucet.  Before the track arrives, the project is no longer "secret".  I don't really care much one way or the other, since I won't get to ride anything until the parks open them up, but I do notice a significant difference in the style of the announcements.  Of course, living in FL, I'll just have to make do over the winter here in B&M village...

whats to get fed up with ?  just becuase they haven't announced their new coaster doesn't mean CP don't love us anymore... I'm sure it will be some insanely wicked twisted ride that will have us all  screaming at the top of our lungs .

besides you can't ride it till may anyway.....

whatcha talkn about willis.....

I thnk the guy gets the point...

Does everyone have to line up to whip him?  ;)

Checking around town...yes, people are still going on with life, even though Cedar Point has not announced their new project. Please people, give it a rest.

SFA 2002-What are they building?

And as soon as it is announced, those who were expecting something different will start complaining.

People are already complaining. I'm sure it will get even worse.

all anybody talks about is cedar point. they have a huge collection of coasters, but besides magnum, raptor and maybe blue streak, most of them are mediocre at best. mf is over rated and it is always crowded. i enjoy going there about every three years or so. as far as the alledged impulse coaster, it would fit in well with the park's selection of coasters.

What's your point... who wouldn't want Magnum, Raptor and Millennium Force in their park? How many parks can even say they have that many world-class coasters? Of the parks I've been to, I could count them on fingers alone.

The complaining is pointless, but it's done by people who don't understand the idea of rounding out your attractions to serve the broadest audience possible.

i've been going to cedar point since before magnum and i'm just saying that for the size and amount of rides they have a lot of them are dogs. also it takes two days to comfortably visit the park, especially those with families.
