Since I've only been on two, I'm not really qualified to answer, but for now I'd pick Top Gun. We'll see when I do Big Bad Wolf.

My Fav is Big Bad Wolf... the near misses with the Village buildings make it a lot of fun. And the view of the river is nothing short of breath taking.

"You have to scale a lot of lift hills to coast easily..."
Never rode Wolfy, Top Gun is okay, Iron Dragon, is smooth yet bland, aside form the mist. The one at PCW, Vortex is it? It's not bad, I like the mountain. But Im gonna go with Ninja at SFMM. It was my first and still seems fastest and easily wins for best visuals.

When we get off a ride do we say, "phew, we nearly missed that building"? Or do we say, "we nearly hit that building"?

My point, a near miss is a hit.

I usually prefer to ride coasters in the front seat, however, on top gun, I enjoyed the back seat better for some reason.
Hands down, the best suspended coaster I've been on was the Bat. It's a shame the tech problems forced it's closure (sp). Having only experienced Big Bad Wolf on DVD, I can't really rate it though it looks awesome. I'm gonna have to give my favorite pick to Top Gun at PKI. Too bad it's so short. :-( Iron Dragon has some great thememing, but I agree it's too mellow a ride to even be thrilling.

GTG with Big Bad Wolf at BGW. It is just amazing. I've never been on a ride that whipped you around so much. I liked it almost as much as Alpengeist!!!!!!!
hehhe here we go again..... I would have to say Face/Off. But I have only ridden 2 inverted.... Top Gun being the other!

I definately have to second JJFang. The Bat was definately a killer ride, and is sorely missed. So many thrills, it could give you a heart attack. ;)

For present-day, I'd have to say Top Gun at PKI. It's a little short, but it's a sweet ride. The way it works with the contour of the land is incredible. In my opinion, for a coaster to be good, it has to "talk" with its surrounding scenery.

BTW, JJ, I want my coaster DVDs back when I come out this summer. ;)

whats the deal wit these coaster dvds
where do you get em'?
price?
selection?
Since I only been on two suspended coasters I would have to say Top Gun at PKI. It's a lot faster than the Iron Dragon, the other suspended coaster. The Iron Dragon just seemed too slow.

The two DVD's I have (thanks to Jenova) are America's Greatest Roller Coaster Thrills #'s 1 and 2. They are really cool though a bit outdated now. The first one hands down is the best. They have 3 coasters from CP and the Beast at PKI plus many others. The worst thing is the annoying hosts and the fake scream track, but that's what the mute button is for. hehe I believe Amazon.com stocks both, and I heard there is a third one that has just shipped out with more of the recent coasters. All of the DVD's have a POV function that is really sweet!
Hope this helps,

Oh don't bother with the 3-D aspect of the discs. It's a waste of time, and ya look like a dork wearing the glasses. heh
PKI's Top Gun. Short, but alot of fun.

This is my first post, and would like to say "hello" to all other coaster fans out there. I have been on only 2 suspended coasters, Ninja at 6 flags MM, and Top Gun at PKI. Hands down, Top Gun wins that battle.

Big Bad Wolf looks great from photos on the net, however.
Big Bad Wolf is the best. The first time I rode it, before the trims on the last drop, I was blown away by the last drop. The helixes disoriented me to the point that the last drop caught me by complete suprise and scared the *beeb* out of me! Not even Top Gun at PKI comes close.

Why doesnt any one build suspended coasters anymore? My favorite suspended coaster is the
Big Bad Wolf
Montu would be my top pick. Also i prefer Fire Dragon over Ice on DD.The back row is the best.

Suspended coasters were built by Arrow, who does not seem to be interested in reviving the line, and we are talking suspended costers, not inverted ones.

Montu and Dueling Dragons are inverted, not suspended coasters. Suspended coasters swing from side to side freely of the track.

Of course, to make things confusing, Vekoma calls their model, cloned throughout the universe, a "suspended looping coaster" or SLC, even though it has more in common with a B&M inverted coaster than an Arrow suspended coaster. Apparently it has something to do with a patent held by B&M.
