Favorite Ride Sounds

What sounds do you absolutely love to hear when waiting in line for a ride and which ride.

Freefall @ SFMM : the sound of the cars hitting the breaks (sounds like its gonna fall apart)

Space Mtn. & BTMRR @ DL : the sound of those LIM catapults in the station areas. that little air sound gets me all excited for the ride

Superman: TE @ SFMM : the whine then scream that you hear standing behind those doors. the first time i heard that i go soooooo scared.

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"

The funny tapings on Montezuma's Revenge

Lift Hill of any Arrow coaster

Sound of any B&M entering the station

Ricochet: Bouncing to you in 2002, Only at King's Dominion!

Easy - the clickity/clack of the rollback and chain of most woodies.  There is no sweeter sound in a park.

Well, obviously, I love the click of a lift hill...it's almost intoxicating.

I'm also partial to the loud clink you hear when a train's wheels make contact with the track again after it loses contact.  It scares EVERYONE around you!

The VWOOSH of an LIM launch is pretty sweet too, but it's all nothing compared to the terrified screams of a first-timer and/or wimp...who screams bloody murder before the ride has even pulled out of the station!  I just can't help but laugh...

Oh, and I love the reactions I get when my friends and I attempt one of our famous on-ride photo poses......

NITRO kicks it into high gear...only at Six Flags Great Adventure!

The sound of Millennium Force going up the lift...wait there is no sound

-----------------
You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.

The sound of the Great Bear roaring around at Hersheypark and the sound of The Volcano blasting off at PKD.
Raptors loud loud lift and Power Tower air compression booms and after it is launched.
Anybody ever notice on the Racer at Kennywood that that one beam moves back and forth and makes a large noise when the ride goes over it. I was just wondering
The loud ominous clanks of an Arrow lift hill
The "roar" of the great B&M coasters as the pass right over your head
One of my favorite sounds that I'm hearing right now in my mind is the sound of Psyclone at SFMM as it passes by the second drop. It's almost as if the coaster is laughing at you, seriously it sounds like laughter.

The SFMM Salvi:
"Goliath Jr. looks to intense for me"
"I want to go on something more exciting than X"

Well, I love the sound of Raging Bull as it exits the station, the sound of RB as it engages, and disengeges the lift hill, and the roar thats on any B&M coaster, I love arrow lift hills, and the sound of a train entering a break run(steel) I also like the wooden lift hill sound, and the sound of V2's LIM's.

-------------
"Thank you for challenging the Raging Bull. We hope you enjoy the rest of you're day, here at Six Flags Great America."

As the name suggests, the Compressed Air rushing through the valves on Hypersonic. When it finally launches, not only can you feel the power, you hear it as well.

Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom.
Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.

I love the que for PGA's Top Gun, hearing that beautiful B&M roar as the trains fly overhead, most clueless people think the sound is part of the theming, that PGA intentionally made the ride make that sound to simulate the roar of a jet engine.
Someone puking!!!!! :)

No really, an Arrow lift, and Arrow air brakes releasing (Vortex at KI, for example).

Heh heh.

I love the sound of Thunder Mountain's runaway train doppler sound effects. I also love the creaking and rumbling of SCBB Giant Dipper.

Yeeee Haaawwww!

Hypersonic in the banked curve.
As mentioned above, I love the sound of the lift and the power towers. One that I just experienced at SFWOA, is passing by the Texas Twister: AHHahhhAHHahh...softer, then louder, depending on which direction they are facing.

"Whoooa, that's hot. There isn't a man alive who wouldn't get turned on by that. Well, goodbye!" - Homer Simpson
by far the B&M roar, it can be heard from quite a good distance away, its easy to tell then you got yourself a B&M to ride. and i love the air release from any S&S Tower. all of sudden you hear this big boom. i love it.
