Aye, 2Hoystyl, the Tilt-a-Whirl is fun with 3. Now try squeezing 4 into it. 2 Skinny ones and 2 larger ones. That sucker was going so fast it was insane!!!!! I haven't laughed that bloody hard in a long time. Granted there were some bruised insides, but man was that sweet.
Ok to the actual point, my favorite non-coaster ride has to go to the Rotor. What a classic!

I just realized that I started the forum, but forgot to include mine. I would have a problem choosing between Dropzone (PKI) and X-treme Skyflying (various parks). The thing that would probably make me lean toward Dropzone is that XS is WAY overpriced.

Oh yeah, and having ridden both, Drop Zone beats Power Tower any day. :)

hmmm..this is a tuffy...
I'm gonna have to go with Spiderman at IOA. Next would probably be Chaos and 3rd would be Perilous Plunge as soon as it opens. That drop looks awsome!
Sidenote: My favorite non-rollercoaster ride used to be TWIGHLIGHT ZONE TOWER OF TERROR until they changed the computer sequence AGAIN, and now it just bounces you alot.
I've got to go with Cyclone Sam's @ Worlds of Fun. It's an indoor Chance Wipeout that is themed to where you are in the vortex of a cyclone.
Of course, Detonator comes in a close second with those giant swinging ships in third.
MambaMatt
What ever happened to those "swinging ships" that went all the way around in a loop? Z-Force at SFMM and the Space Shuttle Colombia at Six flags over Georgia?? Those were the craziest and most fun non coaster rides of them all!!

Gotta ride 'em all!
SFGAdv still had (as of last summer) a full circle swinging space shuttle. It is located next to GASM.
My favs: Train Rides - CP's is nice with the real steam engines and Boneville. Also fond of dark rides and the Skyride - unfortunatly stuff that is getting harder and harder to find. Still, nothing beats a good old fashioned carousel for old time amusement park nostalgia.
SFGAm has the power dive. It is a great ride!
Aero 360 is the best new thrill ride to be built this year. Unless they strap you in too tight that can be VERY painful. Usually they are nice enough to loosen it for you.
Chaos at Cedar Point is one of my favorites, probably because i ride it just about every other day, it has so many elements, spinning, diving, and flipping, i know that there are many similar rides around the country but the only other one i have ridden was the one at Valleyfair! and it didnt seem as good so my vote gos to chaos
PCW has a upside down ship called Jet Scream still. I rode it this weekend and I had forgotten how much fun those things can be!

Supreme Scream at Knott's Berry Farm. The drop still makes me queasy.

1. Spiderman (IOA)
2. Big Shot (Stratosphere)
Nothing tops the Indian Jones Adventure at Disneyland, the most amazing high tech fun house dark ride ever built.
For "traditional" rides, gotta go with the Huss Frisbee, one insane ride!
I have a couple of questions??? I have never rode Drop Zone at PKI, yet. What is the difference? And, why is it better than Power Tower?? What makes it better?? And finally, what year was it built?? Thanks!

There's nothing like a woodie...
I think it was new last year, and it is taller (or at least it feels taller). It is just one time drop. It's awesome, but a very long line usually.
My favorites are:
Bayern Kurve (defunct CP, GL, & PKI)
Troika (Shake, Rattle, & Roll, Triple Play)
Power Tower - green shoot you down side
Snake River Falls - CP
Matterhorn
Flight Commander (defunct PKI)

Yes, Drop Zone at PKI was opened last season. There are two reasons I really like Drop Zone (although I'm not sure that's why everyone else likes it):
1. It's a really scary feeling when you notice you are eye to eye with the Eiffel Tower.
2. On most drop rides, you are stopped before you even realize you are falling. On Drop Zone, you can think "Oh my gosh I'm still falling!" over and over again!
But that's just me. :)

I stumbled across a new Huss Frisbee at Six Flags Fiesta in Texas last week. I had heard of this new ride over the winter but didn't think much of it till I got to ride it!! What a BLAST!!! Take your normal pirate ship ride, take off the boat, add a round-up type seating arrangement and you have one great ride. It's the most fun you can have on ride without being on a coaster!
