Favorite "night time" coaster?

What's your favorite coaster to ride at night? Do you prefer one with lots of lights or pitch dark? My current favorite would be Magnum. I've only ridden the Beast in the daytime but I bet it's insane at night.

We all know most wood gets better as the day progresses, and who hasn't experienced or at least read about how Raven, Legend, Boulderdash, Ghostrider, Timbers & Phoenix deliver during their nighttime ERT events.

As for steel I prefer lights off, and my favorite experience so far is SFA's Superman.

It's very rare for me to stay at a park until dark. I think the only rides I've ridden at night are The Beast, The Raven, MF, Magnum and B:TR. But the best rides I've had on all five of those coasters have been the nighttime rides.

I loved Expedition GeForce at night, but Robin Hood (SFH) is still one of my favourite "night-coasters"..

Does evening counts? It was my last ride on Stampida, there was a great sunset but dark enough, I was sitting in the last row, red train, which is something to be proud (you will never be allowed to sit in the last row if the train isn't full), it was a very nice atmosphere in the station and train. And that was an experience i hope i never forget. Airtime in some spots and it was so fun!!

My favourite evening ride on a coaster so far :)

They're all better at night.

My favorites are Legend and Raven, SRM style.

My pick would be FOF, lol nah just kidding. The Beast for me. That just is such an experiance with the pitch black tunnels and you just flying so close to the ground. The past few years all the lights they used to have back there have broke and luckly never fixed which has really added to the night rides. I would say MF over Beast maybe but MF is a great ride any time of the day for me.

I think Bass meant that he likes to put the song 'Desperado' on when he's getting ready to make some night moves. ;-)

Alpengeist and Big Bad Wolf are especially great during Howl-O-Scream, with practially no lights on either. Millennium Force at night is also a must.

My favorite night steel coaster I would have to say is Magnum and for wood I am gonna go with Ghostrider. Those two coasters are amazing during the day but even better at night!

Yeah, I enjoyed Desperado at night. The lights of the casino flying by, and utter darkness surrounding the ride for miles and miles. It was a unique experience...plus I think most hypers get better at night anyways.

It probably will change this year though...looking forward to night rides on SFNE Superman, Apollo's Chariot, and Big Bad Wolf.

I'm going with Ghostrider. Its a very different beast at night. :) Particularly during solace when it is all greased up and the lights along the track are turned off.

I don't mean to choose both rides from Knott's, but Montezooma's Revenge is kind of cool. Just before launch the lights in the station go down, then turn back on once the train has been launched.

I would have to say Raven, Legend, and the Beast are the best because of the sensation of flying through the woods.

S:ROS at SFDL is great at night. It is nothing like riding it during the day. I can't wait until next season to get back on.

My Favourite Coaster at nightime has to be Top Gun at PGA, Basiclly on the ECC trip to California back in June 02(Which I attended) the park was very kind to invite us to a private party from 8PM 10PM with just 5000 other people in the park, this was much appreciated because it was really busy on the day, It also gave us a chance to experience some rides in the dark. I managed to do Vortex,Drop Zone and Top Gun, and Top Gun in the dark was stunning, For a start the coaster was on intense mode, and riding it in pitch darkness was amazing, The Helix was incredible, never before have I experienced such an intense moment on any coaster,AMAZING(I loved it soo much, I got about 5 rides on it in the dark)
