We all know most wood gets better as the day progresses, and who hasn't experienced or at least read about how Raven, Legend, Boulderdash, Ghostrider, Timbers & Phoenix deliver during their nighttime ERT events.
As for steel I prefer lights off, and my favorite experience so far is SFA's Superman.

Dutch Coastin' :: European coasters, thrills and theming!
Does evening counts? It was my last ride on Stampida, there was a great sunset but dark enough, I was sitting in the last row, red train, which is something to be proud (you will never be allowed to sit in the last row if the train isn't full), it was a very nice atmosphere in the station and train. And that was an experience i hope i never forget. Airtime in some spots and it was so fun!!
My favourite evening ride on a coaster so far :)
They're all better at night.
My favorites are Legend and Raven, SRM style.

Desperado, Bass? That will change this year, for sure ;)

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here and drink whatever comes out."
Yeah, I enjoyed Desperado at night. The lights of the casino flying by, and utter darkness surrounding the ride for miles and miles. It was a unique experience...plus I think most hypers get better at night anyways.
It probably will change this year though...looking forward to night rides on SFNE Superman, Apollo's Chariot, and Big Bad Wolf.

I'm going with Ghostrider. Its a very different beast at night. :) Particularly during solace when it is all greased up and the lights along the track are turned off.
I don't mean to choose both rides from Knott's, but Montezooma's Revenge is kind of cool. Just before launch the lights in the station go down, then turn back on once the train has been launched.
