Whether you choose to make it your "favorite" of the nighttime experiences, it is the most unique, out of control sensation on the planet, not being able to see on the Voyage, and will invoke genuine fear in every bone in your body as you are FLYING.
1) Boulder Dash- Pitch black going through woods on side of mountain...amazing.
2) Nitro- Pitch black going into woods is amazing.
3) Apollo's Chariot-Don't know what it is, but this ride has twice as much airtime at night and because it is isolated from the already dark BGE, it is a very cool experience.
The first time when I rode Magnum (or any 'big' coaster), I was eight years old and did it at night, so it holds my emotional vote. Also, I love cresting the second and third hills and looking out and seeing the pitch blackness of the water.
Same goes for MF and PR with no lights along the course. I don't know if it was intentional or not on Kennywood's part, but no track lighting enhances an already great ride.

Well, I hate to jump on the bandwagon here, as I like to be a little different from time to time, but if youve ridden Voyage at night, you know there is not a single ride experience that even comes close to comparing to this.Whether you choose to make it your "favorite" of the nighttime experiences, it is the most unique, out of control sensation on the planet, not being able to see on the Voyage, and will invoke genuine fear in every bone in your body as you are FLYING.
You could not be any more right. The only ones who don't think this is the best coaster at night are the ones who have not ridden it in pitch black.
1)The Voyage 2)Thunderhead
3)TTD 4)Magnum
5)DD Ice 6)Phantom's Revenge
At Holiwood Friday Night, there was a spotlight on the Legend train as it asended the lift hill. This was a cool effect and all, but also destroyed what night vision I had going out of the station on my first ride. All I could see the entire ride were shadows of large objects as a flew past them. It was quite the ride.
Then there's Voyage at night. All I can say is a Daytime ride on the Voyage is better than some of the best coasters at night. I have never had a ride in my life that out of control. *** Edited 7/26/2006 2:12:09 AM UTC by 0g***
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
But nothing beats Holiday World at night. And the Voyage makes what was already a great night time coaster (the Legend) seems tame. But still great. And the Raven, wow, what a great coaster park.
I have to give it to Cedar Point though. Great sunsets, the views from high up at night. That park becomes twice as fun at night. *** Edited 7/26/2006 7:31:06 PM UTC by rc-madness***
3. California Screamin (DCA) - The lighting is cool especially in the half tunnels
2.Big Thunder Mountain (WDW) - When going up the second lift it really feels like you are in the middle of nowhere because its all black behind the park.
1. Revolution (SFMM) - Even with the stupid restraints, you can't beat flying through all those trees at night in the darkness, even though its not as isolated since Tatsu.
...and such
