Favorite inversion!

122 degrees is an inversion, if it wasnt an an inversion the inclined loop on Mantis wouldnt be an inversion. You are just jealous that MF is better than SOB!
The first inversion on the Volcano.
At 155ft its a blast baby!!!!!:)

Cedar Point describes MF as having "The world's steepest non-inverted turns, at 122 degrees." At least that's what the commercials (and the "record books") say.

Mantis' inclined loop is much greater than 122 degrees, It is only a few degrees off vertical, (don't know the actual angle...anybody know?) thus making it an inversion.

BTW, it is difficult to compare SOB and MF, they are such different rides.

Gotta ride 'em all!
60 degrees is the inclined loop on Mantis. I am pretty sure.

DOWN WITH TRIM BRAKES!
Okay then Soggy, Where is the line drawn? 130 degrees? 150? 167? What? I think that the whole "overbanked" thing is a crock of rat's feces. But if we are to play this game, then IMO any curve that doesnt invert the riders 180 degrees is "overbanked". With that in mind, I know the inclind loop on Mantis has to be more than the curves on MF. I think this was another case of CP claiming a "non" record for hyping up MF (as if the ride itself wouldnt attract people).

I was just stating facts, don't jump down my throat. The line is officially drawn at 162.725 degrees, anything over that mark is an inversion. The point is, almost everyone agrees that the inclined loop on Mantis IS an inversion, the debate is about MF.

Besides if CP decided that the overbanks are inversions (for marketing pourposes) then that would be another record, the most inversions of any coaster over 200 feet tall.

I agree, it is all a bunch of media spin, lets not argue, lets ride!

Gotta ride 'em all!
PKI holds my two favorites. The dual corkscrews on Vortex are amazing due to a lack of g's, and that last corkscrew on OL:FOF is awesome just because you can never see it coming.
I would have to say the heart line spins on ultr twister at sixflags astroworld
The Heartline Spins on ultra twister
I love the Vertical Loop on Cobra ( Giovanola single loop Stand-up ) at La Ronde. Very intense!

Concerning the overbanked turns, MF doesn't have the record. The record holders are the 2 Mr.Freeze. Their "Wraparound Curve" gets you to 132 degrees while never getting you upside down........
Immelman on Aplengeist

Cobra Roll and vertical loop on S:KC at SFFT.

Near vertical drop on Ultra Twister at SFAW.

Top hat inversion on Mr. Freeze.

Those crazy helixs on Titan.

First drop on The Boss at SFStL (not really and inversion, but hey?)

Without a doubt, Alpengeist's Cobra Roll is the most intense inversion I've ever done. The thing is going 58 MPH going into it, which is the fastest speed of most other Inverteds. When I did 16 times in 2 hours, by the end, my knees were hurting from the 3.87 g's pulled so long. The top hat on the Chiller was my favorite before I realized how much the rest of the ride hurt and ruined it, now I'm just waiting for the top hat to be back with lap bars.

my favorite element would be the helix at the end of X-Flight. But I'm thinking it might change to the twisting front flip on X, that looks so awesome when I watch the POV at www.rollercoasterfreaks.com . The other element I like is the Immelman.

S:UF's pretzel loop...It's listed at 3.5 G's, but the onset and the duration of this G-force make it one of the most intense inversions to exist, especially in the back. I reccomend everyone tries it out for theirself.

I, too, am "Proud to be Arrow Dynamic"
"Have you ridden God today?"

Well...

i liked alpengeist's cobra roll, fire dragons immeleman, hulks loop, and volcano's twist. which to pick from? i have no idea!! all are great. just depends on the type for me.

Astrosgp,

Bravo. I couldn't agree more. Although this thread is about favorite, I'd have to say that S:UF's pretzel takes top honor for most intense. Especially in the front. Holy Cow. First time I've seen where the most intense section of train to ride is near the front!

Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like bananas.

My favorite would be the interlocking barrel roll of the Dueling Dragons at IOA.
Hulk's zero-g roll, Kumba's zero-g roll, damn near any zero-g roll. The loop on SOB is a favorite, as well as the cobra roll on Alpie. I find it harder to think of inversions I don't like.
