favorite dragon?

i like both it is hard to decide
i think fire is more intense and i like the weightless drop but i like the near miss of the castle wall on ice

Incredible hulk is #1
I'll let you know which one I think is best when I ride them for the first time next month! Can't wait! :) I can make an educated guess though on which one I might think I like the best from looking over the layouts. I predict I'll like Ice best, only because the layout seems better to me than Fire, but again, that's just a prediction, and is subject to change without notice. ;)
I like Ice better (see top 5 list below) because the drop has a lot of airtime IMO, and the "zero-g-roll" is awesome. The cobra roll and the near miss with the wall is awesome, make sure you sit in the front row ;) The ending of Ice isn't that great but I still like Ice better.

Fire. Better pacing, seems smoother to me. Have to love an inverted coaster that delivers airtime.
Fire is still good, don't get me wrong. The thing that makes me like Ice better is the drop with the trun, and the close call with the castle wall.

Why do you say Fire?

My favorite was Fire. Here's why, that second hill where the ice train rolls under you is awesome. I remember looking down and seeing the train roll, then I saw everybody’s feet fly by, I actually brought my legs up, thought for sure we were going to hit feet.
ice from the last seat, you get that extra intensity in the first drop, though you can't see much unless you're sitting on the outside.
i think both fire and ice are incredible because of the first fly-by, after that i'm not even impressed with the vertical loops.

i donno why i choose ice over fire.. both are great though *** This post was edited by ob3ronkotf on 8/8/2001. ***

i always liked Elliot, you know, Petes Dragon...... he was just hilarious!...he was always getting into these crazy mis-adventures...... hahhahahahahahahahaha!

(ps, i like Ice...ice ice baby...vanilla!)
I love that near miss on Fire where Ice goes right below you upside down! I also love that pop of air you get on Fire.
I like Fire a little bit better because on the 1st near miss you can't really see as well on ice.
I also enjoy fire better.. however, did anyone else notice that seemingly unnecessary hitch (jerk) close to midway through the ride? I remember going back up hill towards a bank and there being a significant jerk. Anyone have a clue as to why that's there on an otherwise smooth as silk ride?

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

Heh, both Fire and Ice have the same drops. If you ask me, I prefer Fire because of the airtime ;). I believe Ice has better feet choppers, but Fire offered a better ride, IMHO.

Fire all the way. The pacing from that floater hill over Ice's heartline and then down in the wicked immelman/helix combo is just amazing.

i would say Ice has the better start but the ending on fire is very good. Overall the pacing on Fire is better but that helix thing at the start of ice is sweet. Front row is the best for both of these rides, especially on the vertical loop collision but try a middle row on ice first, the first inversion caught me by surprise

I prefered Fire, but I haven't been there in over a year and only had the privilege of riding 3 times when I was! I'll just have to go back and try it all over again...

UMM no doubt Dragon Fyre @ PCW (hehehehehe)

Seriously though, Fire Dragon all the way. Fire is the only B&M invert close in intensity to Batman: The Ride. And the airtime hill is marvelous.

Ice, OTOH, despite having the better visuals, rides too much like Raptor....'nuff said!

this is just an observation. most people think that ice is better then fire when they have only rode them like 5 times each. cause you dont notice dead spots in your first few rides. ice is more intense for the:inline twist, cobra roll, loop, corkscrew then fire but it has the dead spots before and after this. fire on the other hand has NO dead spots at all. fire is the perfect coaster. its intense the whole way through, it HAS airtime. i rode fire about 70 times when i went and ice about 30 times. at the begining of riding ice and fire i like ice a lot better. then when i rode them like 15 times each, they switched and fire was better, then the gap just kept getting bigger.
but dont get me wrong. ice is a terrific coaster its just not as wonderful as fire.

*for the people who post below this write how many times you have been on both please.

1.Fire Dragon, 2.Ice Dragon, 3.Raptor, 4.Kraken, 5.Batman Knight Flight
I'm just wondering why everyone is so taken by this ride?

Incredibly short for the wait (around 30 minutes each), so fast paced that you don't even get time to register one element in your brain before you are thrown into the next, and being an inverted the dueling aspect is lost on all seats except the front.

Anyway, if I had to chose, I would say I liked fire better than ice. (Of all inverts I have encountered, I would take Talon, Montu, Great Bear, and Great Nor'Easter(an SLC) over either of the Dragons).

Perhaps I was let down a bit after all the hype. I went in expecting an incredible set of coasters and found only average at best... in my opinion.

By the way, I only did 2 rides on each... when I go to a park I like to see the entire park and all attractions rather than just riding one or two coasters over and over and over and over again.
