Fav coaster towns

Oh yeah, Chicago and Vegas are both awesome cities as well.  Especially Vegas, I had an absolute blast there and can't wait until I go back again.  I slept about a combined 5 hours in the 3 nights and 4 days I was there!!!
Being an urban dweller, I really enjoy getting out of the city when I hit up a park. Would I go to most of these places (Hershey, Monticello, Muskegon) if there were no park there? No. There just isn't a lot there beside the park that appeals to me. If I want to get away from the city just for the sake of getting away, I'd rather go to a state park.

On the other hand, there are some cities that I like to visit that happen to have parks I like nearby: Cinnci (PKI), Hotlanta (SFoG), and Pittsburgh, my home away from home (Kennywood).

I liked Cincinnati, besides going to PKI we visited the zoo and the Newton?  Newport? aquarium.  Also, St. Louis, go to SFStl one day, then visit Grant's Farm, The Budweiser plant, the Magic House, the Children's Museum, the zoo, plus they have that great riverfront area with all the bars and restaurants and the arch, and let's not forget the highlight of any trip, LONE ELK PARK!  They also have an elk park/preserve on my way home from Sandusky so there's SOMETHING to do there.

I am of the opinion that you make your own fun.  The good times don't come to you, you have to find them.  I haven't done much traveling, but when I do, I find out ahead of time what the attractions are for the area.  If the attraction is a giant ball of tin foil, I'm there in front of it having my picture taken.  If it's a park where I can feed some elks, then I'm going elk-feeding.  It's ALL good.  Even Sandusky :-)

Sorry, but Sandusky without Cedar Point is Youngstown!

Hey man, don't put Youngstown down like that! At least there's a college here! And two good malls, unlike Sandusky.

I have to agree that Sandusky sucks. Most towns with amusement parks in them suck. I hear Vegas, although lacking in GOOD coasters, is a great city though. ;o)

89X's counterpart in Pittsburgh is The X @ 105.9, for whoever asked that question. Been listening to that since I was a little punkrawkchick. (which is over now)

I hate the Midwest.

SFA is located outside of Washington DC which is a wonderful place to visit!
Dont forget about the new Great Bear Lodge in Sandusky, home of one, if not the biggest indoor water-park.

"Although CP is my fav and home park, quite frankly, Sandusky doesn't offer a lot after the park closes.

My personal favorite city that has coasters/thrillrides and plenty to do is LAS VEGAS! The city that never sleeps.

Yeppers...Las Vegas is the place to be!

Nat, believe it or not, I was *this* close to moving to Y-Town (well actually Warren) right out of college. Sometimes I think I *should* have. But I took the $10,000/yr pay *cut* because I know I'd go insane if I had to spend *one* more year in a smallish town.

The irony is, I rarely go out at all. It just comforts me to know that I *can* if I want to.

Oh and I hear ATL isnt bad....but I dont believe it!
