Fav coaster towns

Wildwood, the home of Morey's Piers, is an awesome coaster town, you've got the beach, the boardwalk, and plenty of crazy things todo once the piers close.

Philly is gonna get rocked. Can't wait.
Much love for Sandusky! Yeah, it was most likely 89X, they play the biggest variety of music I've ever from Nelly Furtado to Ozzy.

Mine is Sandusky too, but I wouldn't say there is much to do.  It is very convient to have all of the hotels, restuarants, the mall, and Meiers so close to the park.  If you break it down and you don't have a boat or your not going to Cedar Point, all that there is left to do is drink and practice procreation.

I think Sandusky is great (I agree, 89x is awesome).  But I realy do like West Mifflin.  If you have ever been to the River Front or whatever it's called (take a right off the bridge, instead of a left), they have a Dave and Busters, some nice big stores, a Movie Cinema, Ect.  Plus in West Mifflin you get in 89x's affiliate station, and they play the same great music, I can't remember the frequency though.

Wait a minute! You all have *GOT* to be $#!++!ng me! You all cant *REALLY* be that impressed with Sandusky. I mean, I understand there are a ton of people on here would rather be @ CP than experience ejaculation, but c'mon, the city of Sandusky is NOT the bomb like that. Devoid of Cedar Point Amusement park, I doubt any would go there at all.

I could see if people said Myrtle Beach (great golf courses) or New Orleans (great nightclubs) or hell even Branson (that artsy-fartsy stuff), but Sandusky?!? Wow! The loyalty here runs thick...

*spits in disgust*

whadya expect....the people worship the place like Jerusalem. Actually the place looked like east bubble.... to me

Baby, I'm not always there when you call, but I'm always on time.

The place thats the bomb has got to be Wisconsin Dells. Where else is there 3 CCIs, a million water parks, an enormous number of bars (has to be, it's in Wiscoinsin! Lots of bars here), stupid silly tourist trap attractions, boring boat tours, a sky scraper, and 3+ skycoasters? I don't think it's possible to run out of things to do there, more attractions go up each year than come down.
Not everyone is looking for Nightlife!
Sandusky is a nice place for an afternoon winter stroll. Take a visit to the Merry Go Round Museum. Walk downtown for lunch. Sit by the lake at the old Cedar Point Pier. Try to avoid the Rt250 mess and you have a nice historic little adventure.

Although CP is my fav and home park, quite frankly, Sandusky doesn't offer a lot after the park closes.

My personal favorite city that has coasters/thrillrides and plenty to do is LAS VEGAS! The city that never sleeps.

Ggez, Louise, I was just saying that Sandusky is a very nice town, in general.  I'm a big city boy myself, and after a day at Cedar Point, i really don't feel the need to go out and get trashed, because usually i already am, physically.  I'm a sucker for pretty, water-front towns anyways.

Nah ravenguy, dont try and flip da script now. You clearly said that one of the reasons you like Sandusky is because there "plenty of stuff to do". Now your acting like you dont want to do anything after a day @ CP. Make up your mind. If you like it cause you think it's pretty, I'd catagorically disagree, but at least you would me clare/consistant. I just dont see what's so facinating about the town. If i was looking for cultural stuff, I'd think Washington, DC would be better. If I was looking for places for good shows, I'd pick Vegas or NYC. If I was looking to get my eat on, I'd choose Kansas City. Waterfronts? Niagra, Houston, San Diego/Santa Cruz.

Sorry, but Sandusky without Cedar Point is Youngstown!

I do think there is plenty to do in Sandusky, and the entire Lake Erie region.  I've satyed at my relative's cabin on the lake a number of times, and they have a boat, which we usually go out on a lot during the summer.  The food in sandusky is good.  I really don't need anything else.  Does it really matter why i find Sandusky completely charming?  I just do.

People who don't like the Sandusky area are probably people who don't like small towns in general. Given that most towns in America have a population of less than 200,000, then most towns in America must suck.

In my opinion, Cedar Point or not, Sandusky is doing just fine. Retail development is jumping and yet another year round resort is coming to town (ala Great Bear Lodge). I'd be willing to bet most small towns couldn't say that.

And to me at least, Sasndusky isn't even that small.  I grew up in Paris, Kentucky.  Who else here can say the graduated with 30 other people in there senior class?  I'm sure a few, but not a hell of a lot.
Oh, and by the way, my fav place on earth is New York City, but i didn't include because its not exactly a coaster town, or at least i wouldn't say so.  I mean, just about every great city in the US has a park near it, but i wouldn't exactly call them coaster towns.  I was talking more about towns directly connected and identified with a park.

Oh yeah, i also though Muskegon was nice, too.

Well, Orlando is the ONLY place that peaks my interests when the parks are closed. Sandusky, Cincinnati, etc...I dont think so. Williamsburg was an exception, though.

I liked Sandusky when I went, the lake really makes the town.  I kind of regret not checking out the downtown area, but I liked the mall.  (I'm a mallrat so I always check out malls or at least try) I liked the Sandusky theatre due to the fact that it was blue on the inside, but it was a lot, and i mean a lot smaller then I would have figured it to be.

I can't believe that there isn't more SoCal votes yet.  I love taking trips out there and hitting SFMM and KBF.  There is also so much other stuff to do as well there.  I usually hit a beach or two, head up to Big Bear for some Snow Boarding, catch a few sporting events, go to a local concert, and hit the night life scene.  There is so much to do out there it is rediculous.  I usually try to stay somewhere around Knotts, so I am right in the middle of it all.

I am going to go to Orlando for a week at Christmas, and am expecting good things from that area as well.

Sorry, but Sandusky is a little too slow paced for me.  That is just my opinion though, because I am a fast paced person that enjoys going out and hitting the night life and doing crazy stuff.
