If you go to the thread entitled, "Any new 4D's sold yet?" you can find a link that I posted to a video that shows Arrows scale model suspended coaster with a corkscrew. It also shows a POV and perspective view of the first full-scale model suspended testing.

I went to the thread, and there wasn't any link? Which page is it on and who posted it?

Togo's Ulter Twister is hardly a failure. Ther may only be one in the States but in Japan it is the equivilent of a Boomerang!

I think the Ultra Twisters are popular in Japan

Carowinds had differnt style boats(no inner tube) on the rapids ride in its first year and they were a failure

Of course, you can always argue about what constitutes a failure. For example Bat could have been made to work if enough money had been invested in modifications. There was nothing wrong in the basic concept and it was fun to ride. There were just so many mechanical issues that required modifications that it was decided not to pursue them.

Where there plans to do Iron Wolf/Ninja type of suspended coasters with inversions.. how cool!
Did they ever build one?

I think you mean Big Bad Wolf?

Iron Dragon would be closer, and he said those type of coasters not those ones specfically (Suspended coasters not Iron Dragon/Big Bad Wolf/Ninja)

Could we consider a double twisting impulse a prototype? Wicked Twister was great in the beginning but just got worse as the year went on. With all the welding and breakdowns, I think that its pretty safe to say that the first season for a double twisting impulse was pretty close to a failure. But knowing CP, it should hopefully be running to full potential next year.

I think they can go a long way with the suspended coaster. They've yet to develope a floorless or stand-up suspended. Both would be awesome...

You could say the same about X.

(By the way, I happened to be on the ferris wheel when they were welding and cutting off parts. It was cool, and the next day they had WT open and I sat in the front and you could see the pieces they had welded in because they were unpainted (they were white) and black splotches on the sides where the blowtorch had been. It was funny to see WT with white stripes and black splotches on the front tower!)

There is a floorless suspended, it's over the ocean. if u look on arrow's site, it's available on there too. and c'mon people, why does everyone want a Standup Inverted type of ride? there really wouldn't be much difference in a standup inverted and regular inverted, your feet still dangle, and you'd have a bike seat to sit on instead of a comfy seat. i could only imaging that bike seat during an inversion "ouch, well, there goes my chance at being a father"...;)

Sdrawkcab siht daer ot emit eht koot yllautca uoy?

Not to mention the G forces on a standup inverted would be almost double because you are on the outside of the track and there is nothing for you to pass those high G's onto. It would leave people with the worst leg cramps ever!

Hmmm... Sounds Interesting. What did these look like?

-----------------
"Grit Your Teeth, Bare The Load, Enjoy your ride, on Thunder Road"

They were all fiber glass, brown and looked barrel like. Mid way during the 1st season they had an accident where 2 of the boats(1 full, 1 empty) got lodged together at the water fall and when another boat came up and crashed into them the empty one went over the waterfall onto the lower section. This caused the people on the other boat to panic and jump out of their boat into moving deep water. The ride was closed the rest of the season. This is why you'll notice such high gaurd rails on this ride compared to other rapid rides

Maybe someone else has a link to pics of the old boats

There also was the first Suspended Coaster ever built by MBB(Messerschmidt Bölkow Blohm) . It was finished and operated for 2 Weeks at the Oktoberfest 1975. But it was scrapped after the Fair, because of too high forces on the track. There are some Photos here.

The Schwarzkopf Suspended for Busch Gardens Williamsburg, "Flugbahn", was already to 75% built, when the Company got into financial Problems, and the parts already built, were scrapt. More information here.

Almost anything Togo thought of, especially adding their own special effects to the ride. The "hurricane" effect on Windjammer lasted for about 2 days, then it broke forever. So did 1/2 the ride too. At least knotts had the decency to declare the coaster unrideable (happened the first week for one side), retrack the ride, again find it unrideable, and then shut down the ride. And then sue the lowsy manufacturer. Whats happening with that lawsuit???

Are there any concept pics of any of these coasters around?

I love the idea of the front row of the car being two seats, and the rear being three so that everyone has a good view - but I'd be surprised to see ANY of these on any Arrow Suspended.

The Vampire has the Vekoma rolling stock, and even with only two seats per car, a fair amount of supports had to be re-shaped, channels dug out and safety envelopes increased - and STILL people hit their legs on branches etc!

Trying to install three-wide cars would be a substantial job and probably not financially worth it.

Coaster Kingdom: Vampire review

Wndjammer was definetly a blunder. I heard that the trains could not make it through the loop if there were 5 mph winds! Thats what you get for having 2 car trains!

By the way, could someone please explain to me the "hurricane" effect that Speedy said?
