Expansion pack announced for RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

Atari announced yesterday that the first expansion for the strategy game RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 will ship this June for the PC. The expansion will be titled RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! and is being developed by British studio Frontier Developments, the team behind RCT3.

Even THEY get it.

No thanks. I've had so much fun with RCT3, I don't think I could handle the excitement of an expansion pack...
Did the game really do well enough for them to create an expansion pack? From what I have been reading, there is hardly any excitement for the game at all amongst enthusiasts, let alone other consumers. Is someone at Atari making really bad decisions, or is RCT3 that popular? Too bad they add all the cool rides to this sinking ship of a game - it would have been awesome to have them in RCT2.
How delightfully crass of them.

They've added a SkyCoaster, Wipeout, and Huss Frisbee in this expansion pack. While those rides make it very tempting to want to buy it, there's no way this expansion pack will add more than a few hours of playability. I'm sure frustration will set in rather quickly, and leave this game back on the shelf where it has been since the first week I got it.
Looks like Atari is taking the Six Flags "just add water" approach to attempt to improve its product.
alright a huss frisbee to build just what i am looking to build.... a replica of maxair...... build the tallest and fastest one there is

millennium force ride count- 920

dragster launches- 404 with 16 rollbacks

Isn't MaxAir the same size as the other Huss Giant Frisbees?

Although the game lags when there's a lot happening on the screen...

...I still very much enjoy the game. It's just overall fun to creat a layout, lay down the coasters, and watch the peeps as they ride them.

...the same thing happened in RCT2 & 1... but it wasn't as fun because you couldn't really put yourself in their shoes since every peep looked alike, and the graphics were terribly dated.

...I hope this fixes some bugs that the game still has, but am I the only that actually ENJOYS playing this game? Try playing it from a fun perspective... not enthusiast perspective.

At least by the time this expansion is released I should have a new PC that's capable of running it.

Unfortunately, I still won't have a PC capable of running it. RCT3 has been sitting on my shelf gathering dust too.
I barely have a PC able to run it with highly detailed parks - and I have a AMD64 4000+ with 2GB of memory and a BFG Tech 6800 GT OC video card...
I also haven't played this game much because of performance issues. Part of that is my computer (now going on 3yrs old) with it's 1.2Ghz processor and 512MB Ram. I did give it a new 5200 GeForce about a year ago which made playing RCT2 more smooth. Unfortunately, it all doesn't handle RCT3 very well and it got to the point where it was more frustrating than fun.

I had a blast playing the scenarios where the parks were small and you didn't need alot of guests to complete the scenarios. Small, peepless parks are about all my computer could handle.

I would like to see proof that this game with it's expansion performs much better than the current release. I won't buy it until I read that others see an improvement.

This looks AWESOME if it doesn't have bugs.
Let the Pigeons loose! Truly, this will be a monumental expansion. It's like, looking at the pics, i can smell the pretty colours! Honestly, The thoughts of the expansion are the best thing my eyes have laid there hands on in a least a half mile from here.
sorry, just thinking like the people that made
RCT3... Whoa, maybe it isn't our systems at all, maybe we just needed acid...

It looks like there's a Huss Breakdance and a Skyscraper ride in there, too, as well as a Chance Chaos and Zamperla Disk-O. That's a pretty nice selection.

I've had the game since Christmas and still haven't installed it. I've really got to get around to that some day.

I haven't purchased 3 yet. Waiting to upgrade my system. Sorry to hear the negative reviews though.
I easily recognize FIVE new non-water park related additions in this one screenshot. A Chance Chaos, Zamperla Disc-O? (Octopus themed ride in the shot), Intamin Mega-Splash (River Plunge), Huss Giant Frisbee, and an Intamin Halfpipe.

Does anybody else see the humor in them calling an expansion pack for a 'buggy' product "Soaked"?
