Ever Hated Airtime?

If yr a guys ull know what i mean, only every other year,im overdue :O
Airtime Rules!!!!

-----------------

That's not a bad thing. It's a good thing!:DDP

The more air, the better.

And as far as Magnum, the seat you ride in makes a big difference on the type of air you'll feel. There is an "expert" on Magnum around here...

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

I had some painful airtime on the Racer at PKI once.  It's one of my favorites, usually I'll ride it 25 times in one weekend but last time I was getting slammed back into my seat after every bunny hill, and my back would just go **SLAP** right into the back of the seat.  I'd never had that happen before and it kinda hurt my feelings, what with the good relationship the Racer and I have always had.  I felt chewed up and spit out.
-----------------
If you're skating on thin ice, you may as well tap dance.
Big Dipper has one position bars, right? Just hold on! I have only one ride on my usual menu, the Swamp Fox, that's still with one bar, and I would never want to see it changed to single, individually wrapped, ratcheting air time ruiners:(. Of course, it can make you feel like you have fallen out, even though you look up to see that you're still there. I have riden some rides with the single double lap bars that can give quality air, but the single position is where it was at.
Maybe people get scared when "oh my god! I came out of my seat, how dangerous is that!!!!!!" and so on. They might not realize the aspect of seatbelts(where they are used) and restraints, and the safety involved.

As for not liking air. The MB Hurricane has those Gerstlauer trains(like Villian I think, but not like a Boss train), and although the ride is no means what you couled call an air machine, some days it delivers the goods in air instead of speed(that make sense?). But when the train comes to the second hill, the lapbars, no matter where on the train, would ratchet down a few several clicks(this may have been an adjustment or repair, last two trips the lapbars moved down one click at most, if at all), making nice little bruises on the sides of the upper legs. Those lapbars tight:(, bad for air.
Actually, being skinny, any tight lapbar hurts.

As a kid I hated airtime. I was freaked out by it.
Back in the day (always wanted to say that) being in the minivan while it goes over a hill fast gave me enough airtime.

Millennium Force's first drop gave me my first ever feeling of total and complete airtime, not having my butt touch the seat.

Magnum's bunny hops probably give some of the best airtime as well.

But before Cedar Point, airtime brought fear. But it's all good now :)

"When this baby hits 88 MPH, you're gonna see some serious $***."

The airtime on magnum really does vary from car to car like chain dog says.  The seats with the most air are 11, 13, 21, 61, and 63.  If you are complaing about how the ride is rough then you shouldn't ride over the axles you need to sit in one of the 6 middle rows.

Then agian I don't think I have ridden magnum enough yet.  I think I need to go for 1000 rides on it next year just to make sure I am right.

Dan who was just a meare 99 laps short of his 1000 laps for a single season this year.

The airtime off of Magnum XL-200 was big BUT the lap bar kept hitting my nuts and it hurt!

I may be from IL, but i sure can't get enough of the FORCE. MF!!!
P_C_R: Nailed it!

The Big Dipper at SFWoA is a wonderful old ACE COASTER CLASSIC with the "one position only" lapbars. When I rode it on the back I seriously felt like I was going to fall out - so did my girlfriend. (And we don't scare easy!) We decided that's the only ride where we WILL keep our hands down and holding on VERY tightly at all times!

Great ol' coaster though.

The only time I hate airtime is when I don't get any :)

well, when i rode magnum i was in the VERY front.  the first drop was awesome, the 2nd hills air was awesome, the thirds got extreme, and then those damn bunny hops, oh my god those bunny hops.  just thrown out of your seat and since the lapbar only goes about halfway up your thigh, some of you gets out and some of you doesnt, its almost like your gonna snap, its horrible.  my legs were VERY badly bruised from it, im reluctant to ride another arrow hyper now because of this...

edit- and BTW for that person who so stupidly called me a sissie for not liking to get beat up, maybe if your parents wouldnt have beat the sh*t outta you when you were little the pain would have actually hurt.

Once on Viper at SFGRAM  my lap bar didn't go down all the way, couldn't get it to go to that last final click. Needless to say ,I was standing up for most of the air time, not all the way up ,but most of it. Gawd ,that was the most awsome ride!!! I hated it cause I was a little scared I was going to get my head chopped off, But dang it was fun!!!

Wheather it hurts or not I'll always love airtime. It's what I live for. :)

It's his turn to feast, when you ride the Son of Beast.
I was hit by a car a few years ago and pretty much shattered my tailbone. For a few weeks, it hurt to just sit down. I got on a coaster about 2 months later and the airtime was NOT welcome.

I don't have too much of a problem anymore but violent slammer air (last seat in Lakemont's Skyliner for instance) still has a negative effect.

everything's better with a banjo

One of the Best Air times is on the Jack Rabbit in Kennywood.  Where else can you actually see the seat drop about 6 inches down ( when the train is going over the double dip.)
The only time I've hated airtime was my first ride on the Georgia Cyclone. I was COMPLETELY unprepared for the severe airtime and roughness which that ride delivered. Now, several years later, I enjoy each moment. Now I really need to return to SFoG again...

2.  Notice the little smiley face by my post.  That should indicate to you that i was making the post *gasp* in jest.
3.  My parents didn't beat me.
4.  Its just a message board, on the internet.  No need to get so belligerent.
