Ever been stuck?

I got stuck this past Friday, the 24th on Dragster. I was in the front seat and after the train ahead launched we rolled up and the noises and countdown began, but when the breaks went down they popped back up again. The mechanics came in a few minutes and they rolled our train back to in front of the station. They then replaced a part on the apparatus that moves the drive tires up and down. After that, we moved forward and launched. This took around 30 mins. It was great though because everyone in line clapped when our train returned. One of the best rides of the trip too. *** Edited 6/26/2005 2:24:16 PM UTC by Willh51*** *** Edited 6/26/2005 2:27:08 PM UTC by Willh51***
I've been stuck on Viper at SFAW for like 10 minutes. It wasn't bad. Then at SFOG, I was walking up to S:UF and saw that it was broken so we left the line and went over to the Dahlonega (sp?) Mine Train and get a ride in and then hopefully S:UF would be open. Well on the Mine Train we got stuck on the third lift hill and while sitting their I saw Superman flying away.:(

i'm not sure what to put here..

While I haven't been stuck on a coaster yet, I was working one where it got stuck on the lift hill 3 times. Two out of the Three I had to go stand near the entrance and tell people sorry this ride is currently down, it should be back up in a few minutes. If you want you can go wait in line. The third time I had to go in the safety box because one train was stuck on the lift and another was stuck in the safety box. The funny part was no one panicked or anything. oh yeah the coaster was Raging Wolf Bobs at Geauga Lake. and the only reason it kept getting stuck is that was the first day that RWB had it's new legend train and the ops were learning how to run 2 trains. They might still have some issues with it so if you want a good chance of getting stuck on a coaster you should go to GL.

I got stuck on Spacen Mountain at the Magic Kingdom for about 20 minutes on the lift.

Dream Theatre:

You had the ultimate torture. Forget wind, cold, and rain. 3 hours stuck on Small World with the music going and I'd be trying to end it all some how.

Since the last time I posted in one of these treads since last year. I have been stuck twice.

In the fall last year I got stuck on the trim brakes at the end of Wildfire at SDC. I was bragging about how this ride never seems to brakedown when I was there at SDC, so I was surprised to this ride brakedown and while I was on it. Well I was stuck for about 10 minuites while the maintence guys tried to jog the brakes with no luck. So they decided to walk us off the ride.

Back in May at WOF I got stuck on the Boomerang on the cable lift hill just outside the station where the hill flattens out to renter the station at full speed. It took the maintence guys a long time to get to the ride then the lowered the train back down into the station and got us off and into a waiting area so we can get back on when the ride comes back up. This was the shortest ride I had on the Boomerang in distance. (about 75 feet)

At coasters after dark at SFGAm I got stopped about 20 feet from the top of Giant Drop for quite a while. That is one scarry ride to get stuck on. At first it wasn't bad and then you start thinking about the restraints, and being suspended close to 200 ft in the air. It also didn't help that there was a girl sitting next to me that didn't want to go on it in the first place but her friends made her.

Its funny you mention that...I was stuck on the top of Giant Drop back in 00' for about 20 minutes or so. One of the freakiest experiences of my life, I kid you not. Plus they dropped us without notice when they fixed the ride.

Ah, ok. I THOUGHT I remembered this thread from last summer. ;-)

Gator and I were recently stuck halfway on MF's lift hill for about 15 minutes. It's a good thing that I love heights, but your patience wears thin.

Luckily they got it going but after our train was done they shut the ride down.

My *patience* wasn't necessarily running thin, we were only stuck for 15-20 minutes. With my (reasonable) fear of heights, all I could think of was: 1) it'd be nice if a ride-op could climb up here to keep us company, and 2) this will make a cool story, my first lap on MF's front seat and I'm stuck at 200' in the air.

(Yes, we were *considerably* more than halfway up...never trust height-checks from someone who does NOT have a reasonable fear of heights...LOL!)...;)

I will say this, it was our only good chance at riding MF that day, using FreeWay got us our *singular* ride as MF was tempermental all day...also, CP's customer service, giving us exit passes "for our trouble", that was out of the ordinary for CF....which is another example of why I consider CP to be unique in the chain.

Since I last posted, got stuck on the holding brake on Superman at Great Adventure for 20 minutes. Worst ride position to get stuck in, evah!

Certain victory.

I will agree with you on that KTS. I don't really careto hang there while waiting for the train ahead of us to load. So a stop there during a breakdown would be real bad.

Watch the tram car please....
Kick...was this last night? I was at the park and remember watching the coaster have problems, etc...so we just didn't ride. I think i was stuck on the holding brake there as well for a good 20 min. before as well. That's my only experience.

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Bill, that front row seat was just....amazing. It was my first front row ride on Da Force. It was worth the minor hassle with the pissed-off ride op. ;-) And we had company....the dudes sitting right behind us were somewhat entertaining during those 15 minutes. :-)

My whole issue was the huge, gray cloud that was looming over us. I did NOT want to be trapped into a coaster 200 feet in the air and be DRENCHED. Luckily that cloud passed over. ;-)

Luckily we got our blissful, front-row ride. :-) Kick ass!

Only been stuck once on a coaster. It was on Father's Day probably 6-7 years ago. My friend and I were at Adventureland and we were on the Tornado. We went down the first hill and hit a big gust of wind and went up the second hill and just stopped.

The bad thing was we had a bunch of little kids on the ride so we had no weight to get us over the hill as we were trying to rock back and forth to get it going.

So on top of being stuck for 45 minutes, we got to hear all these kids crying and screaming that they wanted their mommies. My buddy and I were just laughing the whole time.

I have seen the Mixer at Adventureland get stuck upside down, hope no one lost their lunch.

Let's shoot us some deer Joe Joe!!!!

I got stuck on the MCBR of Raging Bull on June 17th for about 15 minutes. then the let us go. The train really does crawl through the sencond half if it gets stopped.
Was anyone here on Dragster when it stalled the other day on top of the tophat? I haven't heard from anyone on that train what it was like.

I like disco.

No, it was the Friday before CB Con at Dorney. To make things worse, it was in a downpour. Those cars only shield you from the rain so much...

Sorry to add to this rehashed thread for all of you that are annoyed...

After not having been on a coaster for almost 10 years (my first one after my hiatus was Raging Bull in the front seat), I stated going on some rides here and there. On a trip to California, we went to PGA, and rode the Demon (I was working my way up to riding Stealth at the time). We broke down on the Demon right before the corkscrew. I was terrified that once the ride started back up that we would not have the momentum to actually make it through the corkscrew, but my husband laughed at my worry.

I kept hoping they would let us off the ride, but instead they sent someone up to tell us they were working on the problem and the ride would be going soon. We were stuck for about 10 minutes before they started it up again. Well, we made it through the corkscrew, and after all of that, my husband admitted he was nervous too.

It's surprising to me now that with all of the parks and rides I have been too since getting back into coasters again, I really have not gotten stuck on any rides (minus the Demon problem).

I have been stuck on S:ROS at SFA, and also Mind Eraser. On S:RoS, we were stuck in the station, during a thunderstorm. They couldn't get our lap bars up. We were there for about 20 minutes. On ME, the trains were stacked, and we were stuck for about 15-20 minutes, by the bumper cars building. That was eventful. From being stuck on both, we got a few of the group line passes.

Knoebels- 4/28

At SFMM I was on Viper once when it got stuck in the end course brakes. Both times, the train in front of us had a malfunctioning wheel assembly that had caused it to derail while leaving the station.

Nothing amazing, just my two cents.

I have been stuck on three roller coasters. I was first stuck on the Double Loop at Geauga Lake. I was like 9 and i was freaking. But then it started up without incident.

Next was the Beast this year. I dont know we got to the top and the chain jsut stopped. It stopped for like a total of ten seconds, and then started over the top.

Then Millie this year i was in the back and not that high, but some idiot took off his seatbelt. The ops were fast to go up on the side cart and the maitenence was there in a huirry too, so they did a good job, but funny was the people chanting buckle up as they threw him outta the park classic
