Events You Attended

Do most regional events show up on the ACE website? I'd like to attend a handful, but I'd pay the extra at the door sooner than I'd become a member of ACE (and get all the info. in the mail).

CoasterMania (my 4th) CoasterMadness (my 1st-hey 2hostyl & T!) GOCC Fall Freak Out @ Holiday World.
All were awesome but as always CoasterMania rocked! :) Events for this season will be even more since my b/f has managed to stash some cash aside. I'm hoping (pending any unforeseen horse shows) GOCC Spring Event at Hershey, SRM, for sure CoasterMania, CoasterMadness, GOCC Fall Event at Kennywood :)

It's all about getting around the barrels or over the fences, right leads, no faults, fastest time and still looking pretty when done. What's so hard about that? :)

Only event I went to for 2002 was Knott's Winter Coaster Solace. It wasn't bad. Not as good as 2001's. Still fun, though. Still had the ERT in the morning.

Hell, I think Knott's was the only amusement park I hit in the U.S. in 2002 (well, Santa Monica Pier counts, I suppose). Other than that it was all Japan and S. Korea.

2003's should be interesting. I won't have to worry too much about waking up early this year at least ;)

Matt - according to Knotts you gotta pick up your registration packet by 8am on Saturday...better set that alarm ;)

I did No Coaster Con, SRM, Coaster Chaos, and Coaster Con. It would have to be a tie between No Coaster Con and SRM. No Coaster Con is just so different I probably could put it in a category of its own. SRM is hands down the best enthusiast event that I have ever been too.

Previously I have done Coastermania, ACE Day at PKI, Timbersfest, Spring Conference Chicago, and ACE Day at Big Chief's.

Look out Holiday World....here I come to SRM 2003!

My website - Zero G Thrills

Last year I hit NoCoasterCon, SRM (one word...WOW!), CoasterMania, CbuzzCon...

This year I am going/have gone to: NoCoasterCon, SRM and CBuzzCon...rumor is that there might be a separate ACE event at SFGAm but that is not confirmed yet. If it does happen...I'm there! Can't miss an ACE event at my home park!

No events for me. Probably never will. I tend to go to parks with friends and pretend like I'm not an enthusiast. ;)

However I have been to the media days for Wicked Twister, Rugrats Runaway Reptar, Drop Zone and Son of Beast. Those are like enthusiast events in some ways (i.e., the same crowd).

Coaster Chaos at IB, SRM and Coaster Madness.

Trying to get to SRM, CoasterMania, and TimbersFest this year.

Projected count for 2003: 27 parks & 120 coasters. Actual as of 1/29/03: 5 parks & 8 coasters.

1. Winter Coaster Solace - As Niomosy said earlier, not as good as previous years, but still not bad at all. I certainly got my share of Ghostrides over two nights of ERT! Looking forward to this years and hogging all the night ERT on Xcelerator while everyone is over at GR.

2. SRM - The Ne Plus Ultra of coaster events...there is none higher. Even better than 2001, and 2001 was fricking awesome! I'm very bummed I'm not going this year.

3. Coaster Alley Convergence - Almost TOO much ERT. Four hours of Timber Terror and Tremors. NOT for the faint of heart (or stomach). Giving this one a miss for a year and will be back in 2004 or 2005, hopefully with a third coaster added for ERT by then...

Yeah...CAC sounds CCI-licious! I can't wait for the event this year ;) Wish you were going, Bass.

I've never been a big "attender" and doubt if I ever will be. When I do actually show up for one, I generally choose to appear and disappear moments later. I think I explained my reasons thoroughly enough in the CP page of the CPlaya 100 (below) if you haven't heard already.

I stopped by CP in the evening for CoasterMania ERT and was at the park during CoasterBuzzCon. This year, I've planned well in advance to attend SRM and CoasterBuzzCon SFGAM.

Been to:

SRM 02 - Fun, fun, fun.

PPP 02 - Phun, Phun, Phun

LoCoSuMo Media Day - Fun, fun, fun

Will be at SRM, Solace, CAC, and maybe PPP this year.

Oops, I'm also hoping to make it to the C-Buzz SFGAm day, too.

I attended CBuzzcon at PKI last year and Timbersfest. Had a blast at both parks. Best part of CBuzzcon was meeting the other CBuzzers, and I think it was Chuck who convinced my husband that SRM was well worth attending.

This year, SRM for sure, CBuzzcon at SFGAm (depends on money and if hubby has a job), and possibly Timbersfest again.

CP Lady - one of the things I enjoyed most about SRM the past two years was taking people who had never been and seeing their reactions after riding Raven & Legend, especially that of my 65-yr-old coaster-lovin Dad. You can always tell who the newbies are...they come back to the station with mouth agape and eyes wide open ;)

You'll have a blast!

CPLady - Wait until it's dark out for your first ride on Raven, and go for the backseat. I did this to my friend Tom this year. He was amazed.
I went to SRM and Timbersfest last year, and had a great time at both, but it was in my BCB (before CoasterBuzz) days, so I felt a little disconnected. I really can't say anything about SRM that hasn't already been said...it's a giant love fest. Timbersfest was nice...kind of regret missing the dark rides on Timbers...but my friend who I bribed to go had had enough. Loser. Hehe....just kidding. I am really looking forward to putting names and faces together this year at SRM (definite) and PPP (not confirmed, but I plan to make it happen).

Well, now that the *heavy hitters* have had their time on stage, let's see: it all startted when I was born in a log cabin back in nineteen-naught-six...oh wait, different story. Sory, delusional after the drubbing at the hands, er, claws of the Wildcats...poor gators were shredded and devoured.

Montu having gotten me hooked before Gwazi was born, I found ACE in '99, and attended the first event, SpringCon'00 at SFGAdv/Coney...brakeless Medusa, Viper (hey, jeremy has his Herc, I have Viper, LOL), Skull Mountain, even Chiller was on ERT schedule. Unfortunately, the weather was less than cooperative, but we had a good time nonetheless. Next up was the first ACE Cyclone ERT, and a blast it was. Gotta get back to Coney...*cough*. After that, I made a few friends at our next event, SRM '01, then a few more (one of them our best coaster-buddy) at PKI's CoasterCamp...what a great birthday present THAT was. Since then, we made PPP '01, this year's SRM, CM, and CBCon, and I made Con in CA this past summer. Not really an *event*, but season passholder day at SFoG this year turned out to be quite the ACE/buzzer get-together, wish we'd hooked up sooner, but always great to see *the ir-regulars*....hi guys, ya know who ya are! Man, talk about a couple of guys with track records that make me GREEN like a gator....;)

The one event I really should have made recently was Running Wild at WA...(frowny-face ban in effect), but I'll catch up with them soon. I would swear I'm missing someting, so you can look forward to an "edited" sign at the bottom of this post...;)

Or...why don't I just wait and lampoon a couple easy targets with another post....that's the ticket!

Well, I wasn't at CB Con but I was at Timbersfest. Maybe I convinced you then?

Chuck, who will not miss SRM and will possibly do CB Con this year as Im now a member. I may even hit Timbersfest again but we will see.

Chuck, who might have seen you at Strickers Grove?????
