Events of 9/11

Question, are any parks doing any events, mermorials, tributes, or silences on September 11th? Someone said on Danimation that they woud stop all rides on the minute that the first plane crashed. Do you know which park that is?

If there were any rides open at 9 in the morning, most parks are closed for the season if not just weekends.
He's probably talking about the parks in Cali and out in the west...

If it was out in the west, it would be even earlier. The first plane crash was around 9 o clock, and I can't think of any parks that would open at 9 next week Wednesday.

Just a little tip for fun, go and buy a bunch of mini American flags for 9/11. They really do look great if you put a bunch in along side of your sidewalk or driveway, but they also tend to break easily and blow away....

What park has rides open at 8:53 AM?

If RCT happens to be running at that time, I'll pause it.....:)

SFDL has (assuming still has) a little plaque in the little minature fountain/setup outside the main entrance in the plaza near the parking lot commemorating 9/11...

It was 8:46, not 8:53

Arrow Guy, a fitting tribute indeed...it was hard going to SFoG the weekend afterward, but we did feel it was *important* to move on with our lives....so after you un-pause, maybe you should "lock in" on a train and take a ride, just to claim back what the terrorists wanted so desperately to take away.....
I don't know if any are open, even the year round parks. But like it has been sad, I doubt the parks will be open then anyways. I think the parks that are open will be completely deserted, so I don't think they will even open, but I could be wrong.
I think the parks should open earlier. Maybe some peopel will gather at the parks for a fun say. Just to get a way from all the media that is gonna surround the events from last year. Stopping the coaster for one minute. I don't see what that will show. Why not just have a gathering and say the Pledge or our National Anthem.

Agreed rollergator, Corey Jessup and I went from Chicago all the way to CP, then to SFGAd for coaster celebration last year. Family members said we probably shouldn't go because it's "right near NYC" but I am glad we did. Needed to move on, but still remember, everything that happened that day.

Driving out to the East Coast and seeing all the "GOD BLESS AMERICA" and "UNITED WE STAND" signs on the road and all the flags...pretty emotional stuff.

Joe, who can't believe it's been a year almost

No, which part happened around early 10:00 AM? Was that when the first tower collapsed? That's the time I'm talking about.

I'm going to the DMV! WooHoo!

Indeed the first tower collapsed around 10am. I remember being in my math class, and seeing the tower fall, and consequently the collective gasp of the class.

It is important to move on. I will pay my respects with prayer and moment of silence, but life must go on.

I was in my math class also when the first tower collapsed.

This is a message from don corleone it says lucabratzi sleeps with the fishes.

Wow I was in math also when I heard! I know the second tower collapsed at 10:28 (29?) and the first fell at around 10 am i think. I didnt even here about the whole event until after the first tower collapsed.

Drove past the Pentagon on the way to PKD last month, they're almost finished rebuilding....some of the plans for the WTC memorial were really cool, saw them the other day...

Remembering when I first heard about it at work, the ofice manager walked in and said "plane just crashed into one of the WTC towers"...that was so soon we didn't even know it was a terrorist gig....now we're DEPORTING a guy who carried a stun gun and flight plans into a FL airport only days after....I'm big on human rights and all, but not sure I'm really fond of *just* deportation here....what are we doing, giving him "another try"...just hope everyone realizes that this whole RC thing is cool and fun and all, but there's WAY more important stuff going on the "what park gets what"...

bill, saying "what's MY park getting"....glad to live in the US, despite our flaws....

I was studying for a finance exam that ended up getting cancelled.

I was in Spanish when I heard about the plane crash, but we were all able to watch it on tv. Its pretty sad, I can still remember everything that happened that morning, but the thing I remember most is watching the 2nd plane crash into the building (it just came out of nowhere) and watching both of the towers collapse.

RollerGator-I too went to a theme park soon after the attacks. I remember, it was the first day of HalloWeekends at Cedar Point.
