Traffic has been rising again on CoasterBuzz, and while it isn't because of anything in particular, there are still a lot of new folks popping up everyday.
Please, if you haven't read our terms of service, please do so. We know everyone has at least seen them, because you can't make your first post without doing so. Please read all ten points carefully.
No, seriously, read them. You'll make moderation easier for all of us. Too many recent topics have been so uninteresting and inconsequential that the people who started them don't even miss them or complain they're gone.
Read, read, read. Read again.
Thank you.

since we're on a "how to 'buzz" thread, how's about everyone learning how to quote from others' posts.....NO need to leave their whole post in the quote if you're responding to a specific point.....editing quoted material is simple, saves space, and makes it easier to follow....everyone wins!

But seriously, I dont mind so much the quoting of a post just above (if the post is lengthy) because you may be just addressing one point. But I can appreciate your sentiment.

I think all of my threads have been interesting but they still get shut down.
The only thing i can think of is that because I'am new to this site and don't respond and post to everything.
But I post threads that I think are of some importance to me and everyone else in this coaster community.

I think he'll have a tough run from the guy who said Wicked Twister was being torn down. Ladies and Gents, let the campaigning begin! =)

No, we're not having that contest. Sorry.
Being new to the site has nothing to do with it, darienlakefan.
And the thing about quoting people... I don't understand why people can't write in such a way that makes sense, when the context indicates who you're replying to. For example, if I were to respond directly to rollergator, I might start my post with, "I agree with you rollergator," or, "With regards to quoting a post." Mass quotation made some sense in the days of Usenet, but in a linear thread it doesn't. It's like repeating back everything someone said to you before you reply.

the cool thing about quoting is that it's a great way to give props for those salient little "nuggets"....
...personally, I probably quote Cartman more than anyone else, just 'cause Trey and Matt let him SAY what everyone else just thinks....and then decide on the whole "discretion is the better part of valor" B.S....
If you don't want your topics closed, try posting stuff that's of interest to OTHERS...and start one thread for every five you think of...
edit: since I see Jeff's post, I should say SOMETHING along the lines of "what would you want to agree with ME for"...LOL...

Yes I'm 15, no I'm not childish, I'm not being sarcastic, well maybe I do have somewhat of an ego...
Agreed dlf -- what's up with those posts anyway? But most people (including myself) probably think that post belonged in the Suggestions forum or in a personal email to Jeff. But my suggestion is, if you post an opinion of any kind be ready to take some flaming because it's coming...

PLEASE READ: This post wasn't meant to offend or anger anyone; I apologize in advance if it does. So please don't post a reply just to rant about it. :)

Whooooa, I was just responding to a post from jeff if i knew it was going to be like this i would have just ignored it.
It seems to me I'am not the only one that needs to check out the Cb suggestions.
DJV.....Hey, my "what's the scariest ride you've been on" topic received a great response!! I should remind detractors that the purpose of such a forum is to promote discussion. This topic generated a lot of very interesting opinions, as opposed to just "xyz is Brilliant or sucks etc..."

OK, if '-est' topics are not good material and rumors are not that welcome, and things in the news cannot be posted on the General Buzz board, what are some examples of thread topics that will not be deleted because they violate rules?
Let me just say that I love this site and I think everyone does a great job and the info is very extensive. I also am aware with the cost of running a page of this magnitude so I mean no disrespect. However, I cannot help but feel that since I am a paying Coasterbuzz member, that I should be able to post a topic like 'What is your favorite...?' or 'Of the top 10 coasters, which one should not be...?' without it being deleted. These topics draw attention and provide people with ways to express opinions, which is one thing coaster enthusiasts live for.
There are also a lot of people on this board who are very impolite and/or use foul language quite a bit and I tend to think that goes unnoticed. Or, at the very most, more attention is paid to the topic as opposed to the individual posts. I do not think it is moderated too much, but I do feel that some of the moderation is unbalanced, like the areas I specified above.
