elitch gardens

Ah, Elitch Gardens. I will tell you now, While the new park does have more rides and (a little) more room than the old park, it pales in comparison.

Ever notice how the best ride in the park was also at the old one? I am talking about Sidewinder, the Arrow shuttle loop. This ride has everything going for it-great airtime, high G's through the loop, and to top it all off, the ride is good for your health seeing as you have to walk up 100 stairs to get to it.:)

Just go to the park with an open mind, not expecting it to be a SFMM or a CP. We have some fun rides, not necessarily unique rides, but fun nontheless. You shouldn't need all day there to ride all of the rides unless it is really crowded.

And one more thing-the park has some of the best ride operators I have seen.;) Right J.?

I consider the Dragon at Lakeside a coaster because on both this site and rcdb, it is listed as one. I don't care if it is powered or not. So is Wicked Twister, Hypersonic, and many many other COASTERS.

And I still don't think if you counted the total number of attractions for both SFNO and SFEG, that SFNO would be bigger. But I could be wrong.

Wicked Twister and Hypersonic aren't constantly powered though. They coast down their inclines. Dragon at Lakeside (like all other Zamperla Dragons) doesn't. It doesn't coast, so it isn't a coaster.

But it does coast. It may still be guided and be powerd but the fact that it goes faster going down the slopes means that is obviously is being affected by gravity and thus coasting.

Umm, I can leave my car on cruise control when driving down a hill, but the car will speed up. That doesn't mean the car is "coasting". It still being driven by the motor. The same goes for Zamperla Dragons or Snails at Skegness or Tumble Bugs, none of which are coasters.

Zamperla Dragon trains may speed up while travelling downhill but I'd be willing to bet they'd move even faster if not governed by the motor.

Other powered rides also speed up on a downhill slope, namely drak rides like Knoebel's Haunted House. Doesn't make that a coaster.

YMMV.

What about Pretzel Dark Rides Moosh?

That opens up a nice can of worms.

The ones with the lift hills and coaster-like dips midway through the ride? Well, those cars are gravtiy-driven after the lift, so I'd say it's a judgement call. Some people consider them coasters, others do not. But Knoebel's Haunted House and Zamperla Dragon "coasters" are powered throughout.

Definitely not coasters. Using rubberducky's logic all coasters are powered as they have lifthills.

Both this site and rcdb as well as most coaster sites list them as coasters, so my opinion on it will stay the same.

I can't speak for Brent but I wasn't trying to change your opinion. You may count them if you wish, it doesn't affect me one bit. I was merely pointing out that you were counting a ride that does not coast.
