elitch gardens

Its a shame they had to move. I would love one more chance to go in that park now that I am older and could actually remember things.
Colincsl, I am a teenager that is currently growing up in Littleton CO. All of my friends find Elitch Gardens a lot more fun than Lakeside, but then again, none of them have ever gone to another 6 flags park. If you have been to other 6 flags parks don't go to Elitches. It has some really fun rides such as Twister II, Shake Rattle and Roll, Sidewinder and the Flying Roller Coaster. But all of them except Twister II are clones. Its an ok park but not worth the money.

Lakeside on the other hand is a very classic park from the 1900's. It has some old and fun rides that most parks don't carry anymore. It has a swing ride that uses "boats" to fly people around instead of feet-hang seets. The cyclone is also a very awsome ride. It has the old type of wooden cars that have a seatbelt and a stationary bar. The wild chipmunk is also a very fun ride, it has NO RESTRAINTS!!!!! It is wild and thrilling. GO HERE IT"S MUCH BETTER!

SIDEWINDER SIDEWINDER SIDEWINDER
Some people always moan about the old Arrow Shuttles, but it is a favorite of mine. In fact, The Sidewinder is my best friend :) Elitch's also has a nice collection of flat rides.

On the Casa Bonita note, everyone should go there at least once in their lifetime. The food sucks, except for the nacho salad, but the atmosphere is the best. My college buddies and I go there all of the time. We still go through Bad Bart's Hideout, too :)

Cool, glad the cave house thing is still there in Casa Bonita! I always ate the chicken fajitas when I whent there which was A LOT. The food was good for a 9 yrs old :) .

Don't miss tha magic show at Casa Bonita if they still have it!
Lakeside is a great park with FOUR coasters, not three. However, one is a family Zamperla and the another is a kiddie by Miller. They have a great wild mouse called the Wild Chipmunk that is really scarey cause it has no restraints and was built in 1955. And the Cyclone is the tallest ACE Coaster Classic around.

SFEG is a good park. It may cost a little more but if you enjoy average rides it can be fun. I wouldn't pass up Twister II or the Flying Coaster just because they are unique, and are no where else. Then I would hit Sidewinder and Mind Eraser, and then Boomerang. If you want to hit Tower of Doom hit that first thing though as the lines can be huge for that.

Is SFEG the smallest corporate US park? I don't know why I want to know, but I've been curious about it. The park still looks like it would be a lot of fun for Twister II and Flying Coaster alone.

What do you call Corporate?

I consider Kennywood Corporate which makes Idelwild pretty tiny.

It is very small, but not the smallest SF park. Six Flags New Orleans is the smallest now, and I'm not sure if SFKK is bigger either.

I consider Kennywood corporate as well, but I really did forget about them when asking that question. ;)

I wasn't sure of the size of SFNO, but I've always been told how small SFEG was, so I was just wondering. Thanks!

-Danny

No SFKK is bigger than SFEG. KK is not too much bigger. Kong makes it bigger.

There's a Kong at SFKK?? Do you mean T2 or are you talking about Marine World (SFMW)?

RD, what is/are cence or is that Eminem making up words again? No one is as inventive as that Missy Elliot though. ;)

Yeah I ment T2 sorry. But when I dove by it (it was closed, wahhhhhh) it seemed to be bigger just because of that coaster. We drove up to the entrance and it was reserved for something.

I'm sure that SFEG is bigger than SFNO. It has more coasters, and it more built up. Probably not for long though...

What Idlewild did you go to? Idlewild is a huge park. In fact I bet its larger than Kennywood.

Ducky-Flying Coaster may be unique to the US, but it isn't the only one out there:

KK-Smallest in terms of land? Yup, it's around the bottom.

Nope, 3. Zamperla Dragons are powered. No coasting involved (yes Matt, I finally removed powereds...they are cheating, haha).

Actually, it used to be that SFMW was the smallest in terms of acreage. I think it still is. And I'd honestly say having to been Jazzland, SFKK, and SFEG that SFEG is definitely the smallest of those 3. I'd say that whatever the smallest SF park is would have to be the smallest "dry" park, as I'm sure many of the waterparks SF owns are smaller than SFMW or SFEG.

You used to count powered coasters, Alan? Wow...Europe *was* life-changing, eh?

It seems that Lakeside is *only* a nighttime park because, according to the website, the major rides don't open until 6.

Speaking of tiny corporate parks, I'm sure Wyandot Lake is a contender!
