Why don't you just get rid of the signatures? they serve no real purpose and they take up server space. Most coasters, less junk.

Kinda defeats the purpose when you have 2 lines in your signature, and you suggest we eliminate them?
Is there any way you could put a limit (as in a system one) on sigs of say, 3 lines? They're not bad except for the "top 98228397" signatures. I like people putting their web sites in their sigs.
Yes, there is a limit, but I don't think it works by lines. It works by the number of words there are in your signature. I'm not sure how difficult that is to do, but I'm pretty sure that is a feature.

Signatures are ok as long as they aren't nonsense. Maybe, signatures should only appear for us on topics we start????

They may serve no purpose to you, but they do to others. :) Everyone has their own opinion, but I personally like them. They give you chance to say whatever you want to say in all your posts.

I am just amazed at the different responses. It is like you all pay a part of the bill. I am sure if Jeff wanted to get rid of signatures he would, since he is the ultimate one that pays the bills and also dictates this site!

CoasterBuzz - It is not a democracy yet! ;)
Umm, SFGA_FAN, please check the name of the forum you're posting in - it's "Suggestions for Coasterbuzz." I doubt it's here for no reason. It seems to imply that Jeff and the other mods care about what we think (thanks, mods :)). So when we submit our suggestions, we're not trying to run the site or imply that we know better how to run the site than Jeff and the other mods. They do a great job running the site, and I'm glad there's a forum for us to voice our suggestions and have the mods actually listen. Sorry to be so long-winded (fingered? ;)).
It all comes down to time and money. While I do appreciate feedback, it doesn't mean I'm going to jump right on it (my "to do" list for CB is ridiculously long as it, and I'm seriously neglecting a new version of the forums).
Sigs are fine... I just want people to use them correctly. Your name and some brief statement is fine.

Point taken. Signature has been modified.

I think that sigs are good, cause its a good way to get your site address to some enthusiasts easy, and Jeff is kind enough to make it free advertising (in a way). Thanks Jeff!!!!!

It's not that signature lines are bad, but some of them are getting out of control. Please take a moment to read over the FAQ link on the forum's homepage. There is a section in there about signature lines.
Sorry jdancisin, I may have been a bit abrasive in my response above.
Not a problem. It was more than a fair comment. I actually forgot that my signature was so long.
