Keep in mind that you don't own the copyright to that video, and you're infringing by posting it.

"As far as I can tell it doesn't matter who you are. If you can believe, there's something worth fighting for..." - Garbage, "Parade"

Are you serious?

Darn. I thought TV news was inherently free to the public.

Thanks for the Heads-up, Jeff.

Markey hasn't got a clue, he probably could not even find his way to SFNE! But he found an "issue" that gets him press, so he is milking it for all it's worth. Just a typical shameless politician, and I am sorry to say he is from our great little (corrupt) state of Mass.!

I would have loved to have seen it

"The opposite of war isn't peace, its creation," Rent.

JamminJ, the industry rep was about to make that very point, and I anticipated him doing so...but obviously Markey and the moderator did too becuase they deprived him of a rebuttle, and let Markey speak again. Can you say baised?

Snoopy Rocks! On Ice opens on June 22nd

Think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?

Markey: People are being hurt, we can do something about it, and it would be irresponsible of us not to do so.

It is like a broken record. He obviously knows nothing about the amusement industy (no pun intended) and he had no real argument. Enough of stating the obvious.

His exact words were "Amusement parks are not safe so we're going to make them safe" How are they not safe? Does this Markey guy smoke? We could really get him for that, that's a hell of a lot more dangerous and it endangers everybody else around him. We got more serious problems to deal with in this country!

Is it written in the stars?
La Vie Boheme!!!

Powers did a really poor job. Instead of supplying facts to back up his argument, he just kept asking, "Why don't we regulate this? Why don't we regulate that?" What kind of argument is attempting to divert the focus away from the subject?

As others said, wouldn't it have been nice if Powers would have shot Markey's arguments down with facts (such as explaining g-forces on coasters last for only a second or less) rather than whining about what things are "more dangerous"?
