Dueling Dragons Referb??

If they're painting the track, I'd hazard a guess that both have to close as it's an obvious health and safety issue to have cherry pickers painting one of the tracks as the other is operating.

With both coasters intertwined, it's inevitable that the track gets too close to the other to be able to safely do this.

What's odd is that both were open this weekend. I wonder if they're just doing it during the week...

I don't see a reason to every close the ride. Train rehabs can happen on a rotating basis at all times if they want, seeing as how I doubt they ever run more than two per side this time of year. Track inspection can happen in the morning, or just a portion of the day. Painting I could see closing the ride, but with this quick-dry stuff they use, again, I don't see why they'd keep it down all day.

kpjb, Take what Guest Relations say with a grain of salt becuase they also told me that Dueling Dragons wasn't going down for Rehab ever. When I got there I found Ice closed for Rehab as stated on the web.

As long as one of them's open, I'll settle for that. Honestly, working in the industry, I couldn't understand keeping a signature attraction closed for weeks for rehab.

Like Jeff said, the trains can be rotated out. The track should be inspected daily anyhow. The PLC needs no maintenance... change the battery for the program backup every couple years, and that takes 30 seconds.

Painting is the only reason to close the ride short of a major structural flaw. That shouldn't take 3 weeks, though. I'd say 5 days max.

I'm just crossing my fingers. Worst case scenario... more rides on Hulk.
