Dreams about Roller Coasters

Yes, I AM a loser. I dream about roller coasters. Some of them were so peculiar though, that I just had to share on this site.

1. I've been thinking a lot about CP because I'm going there on opening day. I want to get on one of Gatekeeper's first trains. In one dream I had, I got second in line after a sprint to Gatekeeper. I was at the top of the stairs and a lady holding a baby was behind me. That's odd, the baby couldn't have been tall enough. It was, of course, a dream, so I didn't question it. Anyways, we were about to enter the building, and were on stairs, and the woman dropped her baby, and I jumped off the stairs, caught the baby and threw it back to the mother. Then I ran around to the line and got back in line. Then, the ride attendant said no cutting in line and kicked me out of the park and stripped me of my Cedar Fair Plattinum pass.

2. I dreamed once I went to Holiday World and I forgot to ride Voyage. Weird.

3. Once, before I rode it, I dreamed that I was riding Millenium Force went upside down like 8 times in a row and I fell off.

4. Once, I dreamed that I was going to ride Gatekeeper on opening day, and I liked the first camel-back hill so much that I was looking for a shirt at Cedar Point that said I <3 Camels. They didn't have one. The funny thing is that Gatekeeper's camel-back hill won't be the highlight of the ride.

5. Two nights ago, someone asked me "Do you want to ride a roller coaster?" I said yes. Then, out of nowhere, Gollum from the Lord of the Rings jumped out and ripped off my finger. Then he went MYY PREECIOUSS and I woke up disturbed.

I don't know if this is common for roller coaster enthusiasts or not, but I want to know if it is. Is it worth it? Do I have some sort of psychological illness or something?

I find dreams about other things more interesting. I once dreamed about telling Mel Gibson as we rode in the back of my parents' van that I found a box of 1/2"-long puppies at a gift shop being sold for 22,000 dollars each.

Tyler, maybe your dream portends the fact that Gatekeeper's camelback hill WILL be the highlight of the ride.

That is doubtful. It would be more amazing if Cedar Point would make shirts that said I <3 camels for it.

The first step to recovery is realizing that you have a problem. Only 11 more steps to go.

Looking back at that, I wish I used a different word like coaster-geek or a psyco.

You are not a loser, and I don't think that you have a psychological illness that I can see. You may have some issues that you might want to try and work on. Part of it is just growing up, and a lot of people feel the way you do, but maybe they perceive their problems a little differently. My unprofessional interpretations? ...

1. You are realizing that you are suddenly losing your innocence, and you are trying to find a way to recover some of it. You are confused about the direction of your life and you are feeling like someone or something is trying to push you into the wrong direction.

2. You may be subconsciously telling yourself that life is too stressful and may be trying to talk yourself out of doing some things that are important to you.

3. You fear losing control in an unexpected or unfamiliar scenario.

4. You are finding it difficult to meet the expectations that you have made for yourself. You realize that these expectations are a little odd, and may be unattainable.

5. An unsympathetic person or situation is keeping you from doing something that you enjoy or keeping you from being yourself.

Perhaps that will help, or perhaps I am completely off.

Sadly, you are not alone. I dream about coasters too, and for me, often times, they're way more awesome than real coasters. It must just be a thing among us enthusiasts, right?

Kause thanks for the input. It looks like it's a number 3. The thing is that all of them started normal then just turned weird.

You are welcome. Figuring out what dreams mean is a little hobby of mine. The analysis was for each dream, your dream number one is my interpretation number one, two is two, and so forth.

Maybe some of that is right, and will help you to know what the problems are, so you can figure out how to fix them.

I've had weird dreams like that, also. When Isay "also", I mean I have also had a roller coaster dream that involved Lord of the Rings...I rode I305 to avoid being captured by Sauron. :) As well as a dream where I rode Busch Gardens' "New Griffon" (that's what it was called in the dream) with on-board audio and overbanks...

I absolutely love LotR. I wish that some theme park would be made themed by it.

Actually, I heard a rumor that Universal was considering a LotR section to their parks. No joke.

I got chased by all three types of Terminators through Darien Lake once in a dream.

I've had some crazy coaster dreams. Dreams works strange, and don't work like real life. My coaster dreams have always been some of the ones where I just don't wanna wake up yet.

I have a lot of dreams about coasters and parks. The thing that always strikes me about them, before it quickly fades from memory, is how the parks and rides NEVER appear as I know them to look.
