A Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom attendant was arrested Wednesday afternoon for allegedly stuffing $52 in revenue from the Hoop Shot game in a sock, South Whitehall Township police said.

I like how she's out on $5,000 bail for a $52 theft. You'd have to ask yourself, was it really worth it? :)

Depends on how many socks she has.
That's true enough. Hoop Shot may have been on its way to being her ticket to financial emancipation.

I highly doubt she's the first or the last, but at least she got caught.
Far from the only location or person.. Which is why there are some major theme parks which have security cameras pointing at the midway games. Almost very Vegas like..

At my amusement park, all games would have automatic bill changers like on vending machines. I wouldn't have to hire a person to staff each booth, just one for every couple to watch and make sure no one is doing anything like cheating.
I guess it'd be more like an arcade, but with "break the plates" instead of skee ball. :)
I had a friend who did this very same thing for two seasons at another amusement park. He had to ring a bell that would record the game or else the player got a free game, well what he would do is not ring the bell and pocket the cash.
And no, before you ask the friend was not me.
Cedar Fair should be arrested for robbing customers and making them pay $4 to play that game!
Thanks,
DMC
They aren't robbing anyone. People willingly give up that money.

But... Cedar Faires is EVIL!11!
I'll be the first to admit, I've paid the $5 to play 3 point challenge once or twice in my time. I also willingly pay to play the bowler roller game, which no longer exists at CP. :(
So since she is out on bail, when is she scheduled to return to her job? :)
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Or you could go the simpler route, and follow the example of California Adventure, and use preloaded cards available from centralized dispensing machines.
Thus, NO CASH is touched by the game operators, and everything is automated. No swipe, no play (well except for the fishing game). No Swipe, no water in the nozzle, no release of the balls for the derby race, etc.
Cash is collected from the dispensing units, and like tokens, anything put on the card and not used, is lost at the end of the season (or whatever California law permits)

OMG! Are you referring to the game where you get the bowling ball to settle in the trough. I LOVED that game. I scored wins with every roll. KD had it as well, but yanked it for mysterious reasons.

Hershey still has it, and it's just a quick hour drive from Dorney!

If I'm not mistaken, Hershey has two in fact!

Yeah, that's the one.
Last time I was up at Geneva-On-The-Lake, they had one in the back of the arcade. Figuring I'd win a couple of tickets for it, I gave it a go. That thing has all kinds of bells and lights on it when you win. It's kind of embarrassing. :)
Knoebels has one too near the Haunted Mansion and round stand.
The only games that I play are Skee Ball and Fascination. I enjoy throwing balls I guess. :) But also, they are usually much cheaper than the other games. I'm pretty frugal in general but at parks, other than admission, there's not much more money they get out of me.
