Doogie does the Candlelight Processional at Epcot

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Actor Neil Patrick Harris breaks from his role of Barney on CBS' "How I Met Your Mother" to narrate Epcot's Candlelight Processional on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It's his third time at Candlelight and his first since 2008.

I hate it when people call this actor Doogie. He hasn't been Doogie for a very long time.

Neil Patrick Harris has a small cameo in the new Muppets movie. What a hilarious film it was!

^^So should he be referred to as "Barney?"

If you're 30-something or older, he'll always be Doogie.

If I had Neil Patrick Harris' career, I'd be just fine with people calling me by the name of the character that started it.

For anyone who has ever seen Dr. Horrible's Sing-along Blog, he'll never be Doogie again. :)

That's what they keep saying about Opie... ;)

NPH Gets It.

He will always be Doogie to me. And Howard will always be Opie Cunningham.

I suddenly have the Doogie theme song stuck in my head.

Anyone think that NPH has been tainted by his role in the Harold and Kumar movies? His role in which he plays himself, NPH. He seems to play this character too good, either he's an incredible actor or that he's just being himself. I loved trilogy of these movies, but I thought that NPH's character was a little over the top (ie not an ideal family-oriented guy). But these movies are over the top.

Anyhow, based on this, I don't see it fitting for NPH for leading the Candlelight Possession at Epcot. Or maybe I'm just judging him too harshly for his role in Harold & Kumar. But there's got a better celebrity to lead this once-a-year event.

Well, considering he's pursuing women in that movie, I'm pretty sure it's just a role.

^Next you're going to tell me he's not REALLY a doctor.....as IF!

I enjoyed the interview he did with one of the coaster site's podcasts (not Coasterbuzz, but don't remember and too lazy to look it up).

He really is quite an enthusiast, which is why he jumps at chances to do stuff with the Disney parks, like record the voice-overs for California Screamin'. I got a kick out of hearing him go on about how much he loves parks. How his partner (who is from Ohio or close by) took him to Cedar Point, which Neil loved.

If I had a chance to have dinner with a celebrity of my choosing, he'd be near the top of that list.

You mean Opie Taylor, don't you? Or Richie Cunningham.

Unless it's a reference to the classic SNL skit with Eddie Murphy and Ron Howard (of which I can't seem to find any video).
