Dollywood Not-To-Miss(es)

If you have time take a Side Trip to Chattanooga and visit Lake Winnepesaukah ("Lake Winne" to the Locals) Dont forget to take in the Sights of the Great Smoky Mountains. If you're up to the Challenge take a Day Hike off the beaten path. The best views in the Park are for the hikers. Don't miss the oppurtunity to see a Concert if one is scheduled in Dollywood if you are there. On my first visit to Dollywood in 1988 Tammy Wynette (Now Deceased :( ) was having Concert there and it only cost me $6.00 More to include the Concert with my Admission ;)

Lake Winne's not open. I already checked into it. :(
Everyone visiting the area this year should try out ZORB!!! It's the first Zorb course in the US, and it opens soon. For those who dont know, you get inside a huge inflatable ball, and then you roll down a hill. I think there are two or three different courses to chose from, and I think you can have water added inside the ball. Can't wait to do this myself.

Check it...

Also worth checking out is Wonderworks in Pigeon Forge. It opened recently and looks pretty cool.

Those Zorbs look fun. The first time I saw one was during Peter Gabriel's tour for the album "Up" He went all around the stage with it and even bounced it around a bit. It looked real fun but probably tiring as anything.

As for Dollywood, If you like Country or Gospel music make sure to hit some of the shows. I am a semi country music listener and I loved the Country Crossroads and Back Where I Come From shows.

I also recommend Mountain Slidewinder it is fun and when the raft gets high on the turn walls it will make you think you are going to flip.

The food and the shops are awesome.

I will also vote for seeing the Bald Eagle exhibit those are just some beautiful and majestic creatures.

Watch the tram car please....
Zorbs do look like fun, but i bet cleaning puke out of them is real tough.

I agree with everyone that said: the pigeon forge/ober gatlinburg area is fun. We had a blast there.

If anyone has seen the Graham Norton Goes To Dollywood special on BBC America, you will remember Ruth Anne, the firepistol who rode Daredevil Falls with Graham Norton. She still works at Dollywood in the Sweet Shoppe in the ice cream parlor and she keeps it real. Stop in and see if she's working, say hello.
