Does The Thought Of Riding X Scare You?

Here's an different question, will you be scared while waiting in line to ride X?  This hasn't happened to me in years.  I believe the last time I was honestly afraid to ride something was when Viper opened at SFMM.  Since then, I have looked forward to a ride, but never had the thought cross my mind of "oh @$&* this is gonna be madness."  Is this a ride to start the day off with, or will we need a warm up coaster?  Don't call me a wuss, because I believe that the fear honestly adds to the experience.
Sure, its only natural when its especially a coaster that you have never experienced before. I had the feeling when I boarded V2 for the first time. I had the nervous feeling but it was the exciting type of nervous. I think "X" is definitely going to make people nervous (yes, that includes coaster enthusiasts).

"The Peoples Elbow" or "The Spinaroonie?. Cant decide which is the most electrifying move in sports entertainment!!! LOL
A little, but as you said that's part of the fun.

I don't really get nervous in line, being frightened tends to hit me just as the crux of the ride nears.  Here's a few examples:

- When I rode X Flight the first time just prior to it flipping me on my stomach.

- Drop Zone at PKI the first time as it ascended prior to the drop.  It still gets me sometimes.

- The Beast the first time I saw that small little tunnel opening rocketing toward me on the helix.

- CP MForce the first time I experienced the lift.  The drop was nothing, the lift scared the crap out of me.

- Outer Limits the first time I launched.

I could go on and on.

There is one attraction that No ONE has been successful at getting me on.... A Skycoaster.  I am absolutely terrified at the thought of it.  Many have tried, all have failed.

The most scared I have ever been, hands down, was being stuck on Zamperla's Turbo Force at the top of the GA Dome last year at IAAPA.  I swear I thought I was going to die, or pee my pants.  The stupid thing is I decided to ride again the following day thinking it wouldn't be as bad... WRONG... it was worse!

Considering all the manuevers it will do to the human body---------------YES I am very afraid!  Add to the fact that it's a prototype that has'nt opened because of 'problems' and you have a recipie for pure unadulterated FEAR!!
I haven't been scared to ride a coaster since Superman:The Escape several years ago.

Protoypes always get me because you simply have no clue how it will feel, or how you'll react. I had the same reaction on Stealth, Volcano and Perilous Plunge.

X fits nicely into that category.

I have only been scared (not really scared, but really nervous) about riding two rides.

- Millennium Force - This past summer until I went to Cedar Point, I had never ridden a coaster taller than 200ft (Alpengeist @ 195ft was the tallest).  I started off the day going straight to it, thinking how much fun it would be. HOLY SH*T were the first words to come out of my mouth (literally, those exact words).  When I was in line, I couldn't stop gazing at the lift and how fast and steep it was.  When I got on, the lift is what scared me the most, I could have pi**ed my pants if I would not have been so caught up in the ride.  The first drop, I could not even put my hands up, I was freaked.  After that, they were up the whole time baby!

- Power Tower (CP) - This ride simply cause I had never ridden a space shot type ride.  The feeling of not knowing when you are gonna launch is incredible!

Wild Country USA is coming to Desoto County, Missssippi Memorial Day Weekend 2004! 5000 Acres and 8 operating world-class coasters on opening day! Do the words Giga, B&M, CCI, and Arrow 4D sound familiar?

Whadda YOU think?

Only thing I am ever afraid of is FreeFall rides or Turbo Drop/Space shot rides, those scare the crap out of me and oh yeah spin and pukes, they make me sick anyway so I am always scared to ride them.  Coasters don't get me anything but pumped up before riding them.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?
all this assumes it will someday open? ;)

I doubt they will take it down without opening it. Maybe it will be reprofiled a great deal or trimmed heavily, but I get the idea that Arrow knew there were problems with the Bat, but they opened it anyways to learn all they could for redesigning. It would be a major financial blow to Arrow and Six Flags (who would be suing Arrow) if X never opened.

"Eject Goose, Eject!"

Scream! at SFNE, a 3 tower s&s. It still scares the crap out of me at the top of the Turbo Drop. I still put my hands but I couldn't look down if I tried. Just look straight ahead. The Space shot is nothin':)
Why all the doubters about X still?  Arrow says that they have fixed the problem, two trains are having their final modifications made, the coaster has made 1000 runs through the circuit, what more do you want?  My take (and your more than free to call me crazy) is that we will be riding this thing by XMas.  Write it down now!
AdamFrank, that's not a crazy notion at all. That's all i have to say about that...   ;)
Man, something about Drop Zone at PKI.  I wasn't holding on to the handlebars, I was holding on to the metal structure beneath the seat.... (and that was this summer!!!)
I'll probably be a be intimidated while waiting in line to get on X, but that always happens on any coaster I haven't ridden. As some have said, the worst part is standing in line.
To date, the only rides that still scare me are space shots and drop rides. I'll still ride Drop Zone, but someone's gotta lock my harness for me...

My current top 5:
1)Goliath 2)Vertical Velocity(SFMW) 3)Medusa(SFMW) 4)Stealth (PGA) 5)Riddler's Revenge

I get nervous on ANY launch coaster.  Hulk, Viper(SFOG R.I.P.), Rockin' Rollercoaster, Deja Vu(Not really a launch, but scary).  That's all I can think of for right now, or that may just be it.  I'm not sure because it's late.  I CAN'T WAIT to ride H:XLC.  Oh BOY!

Coasters are like a fine wine, they get better with age.
