Does Talon lack anything

I have not rode Talon yet, but I will in 12 days. According to around half the people responding to this topic, Talon is "forceless", other half great ride. If the ride isn't "forceless" then I'll just say that some people don't know nothin about coasters.

Dorney Park is da bomb!
I think some people just like to say words like "forceless" and "airtime" to make themselves sound cool.

You think people sound cool when they say "forceless"? Huh?

And also, I have heard from quite a few people that Talon is not deserving of some of the accolades some people are giving it, and i trust those friends.

Isn't that what OPINIONS are all about?
Well, ravenguy98, no, I don't think they sound cool, but the people who say it probably think it does make them sound cool. Something like a coaster know-it-all.

Come to SFGAdv, we got a trio of B&M's that are packed with force: Batman, Medusa (1999), and NITRO (2001). Also go try Dueling Dragons and Hulk 3 more B&M's with force. These are just a few of the many examples of forceful B&M's. By the way 5/6 of those are relatively new coasters. *** This post was edited by DMB17 on 6/17/2001. ***
i just want to know if it is anywhere near the status of B&M's best invert Montu. Now that takes alot.
It's so sad that you people are to the point were you bash on coasters. you people are too spoiled with coasters! How can you bash B&M or pretty much any ride?!

We should appreciate what the coaster designers and parks do for us!

I LOVE B&M!
Cup-holders? ;)
The talon does not compare to montu or the great bear. its a very VERY boring ride. Its extremly short all you see is the track around you (which in my opion defetes the purpose of it being inverted) and not one part of the ride took me by surprise.

You talk like all the coasters that are built are personal gifts to us or something. As far as I can tell, parks and coaster designers should appreciate what WE do for THEM. But I think they do.

Are we talking about the same ride here? I thought Great Bear was great, but Talon was much better. How many inverts do you know of that give you airtime. Talon may not have as many inversions as the others, but all four are intense as are the helices.

I have always thought that the purpose of inverted coaster was to give a flying sensation (of the jet fighter type), not to give you a view of your surroundings. I think flying through the Talon structure, fearing that I will lose an arm or a leg, is quite exhilarating.

This is just my opinion, I do not expect everyone to love Talon as much as I did, but calling it boring is a bit of an overstatement.

But it can't be better then montu, or alphengeist
DMB17, you think that Medusa East has strong forces? There are kiddie coasters with stronger forces...and Lynch, just because some of us use the technical words for things doesn't make us coaster know-it-alls. I'm sorry if the word forceless is too "coaster know-it-all" for you...let me put it another way- "Dat coaster Talin ain't got none of 'dem forces." Is that better?

You're missing my point. Know-it-alls usually don't know it all, and many times, the people who go around spouting out words like that just use those phrases to sound informed.

I don't think anyone who hasn't ridden the thing should even be in this debate. Every coaster from the same manufacturer is different, even all the boomerangs. Look at Arrow. Some Arrows are neck breakers, some are still smooth as glass. The same thing goes for B&M and the amount of forces they have. They're all different rides; you can't judge one by riding another.

Ride Talon, if you have an open mind you will be blown away. It will at least meet expectations, and I love it much more than Alpengeist because it has smooth flow and transitions where Alpie is jerky and has no rhythm.

Ah yes... coaster snobbery. The very thing that makes it embarrassing to call yourself a coaster enthusiast.

It seems that too often enthusiasts, especially in the Internet community, are so busy trying to impress people with their vast array of knowledge that they're incapable of just asking, "Did I enjoy the damn thing?"

Frankly, being on a coaster, any coaster, beats the snot out of being at work or sitting behind the computer trying to impress some geek across the country who is in turn trying to impress me with their vast riding experience.

Just get out and ride the damn things.
